Are there any risks associated with an unlicensed Energy Supplier?

Just uSwitched my current energy bill for a cheaper alternative. One of the options that came up looks really good, except it says Unlicensed Supplier. What exactly does that mean? Should I be wary?

No idea... though there was some discussion on MSE about one of the unlicensed suppliers - so that may be worth a read.
