Dd just made £40 selling old things at a carboot. I'm glad to say she want to keep the money and not rush out and spent it. As I'm doing a big clear out their will be a chance for her to make more money.

I've looked online and notice that 11 seems the magic age for cash cards which would be great for instant access to her money. Second best is to access account using her account book in the bank.

Also would be great to add a small amount every month as pocket money, but am only really talking £4-5.

Wer have just looked into this for dd (8) to try teach her manage money better than me Blush Also found that 11 is the lowest for cash card account. Sorry, not actually helpful

i personally would avoid cash card accounts for anyoen under 16 (which is impossible these days)

it means that they have a much better track oftheir money, they get to interact with the cashiers, and they're not going to get mugged by peers who want to steal their moeny.
i don't think a young child should be given the responsibility of having to remember and keep secret a PIN.
daft idea.

Not sure about cash card accounts but for what it's worth both my children have accounts (but as the oldest is two she's not doing any withdrawing any time soon!). They're with the nationwide.

Thanks Reejj I do have an account for dd that she's had since birth but didn't want her to have access to that one.
