CCJ Paid, how long before its removed from credit file

I paid a CCJ within a month of it being made, and therefore am eligable to have it removed completely from my credit file as if it never existed.

I am sending the letter from the company which I need to send to the court, and they will automatically notify the company of registers who hold the info on CCJs etc and any info relating to it will be removed.

Does anyone know how long it will take to be removed from my credit file? how often do experian etc update their records.

I ask because I am sending it in by fax today, they said at court it will be done their end and with the registry by today, and I want to open a bank account which will be refused if I have an active CCJ, and want to know how long to wait for applying for it.

it may flash up on your file for years after being removed

How can it flash up? If it has been removed from the registry then it no longer exists? It is not a 'certificate of satisfaction', as it was paid within 28 days, in full.

Either it is removed, as they say it will be or it is not? Not sure how it will flash up?

Anyway, I called Experian, and they said it will take a couple of weeks for it to be removed from the register fully and then up to by end of August for the credit reports to be updated. Suggested not opening the bank account til September, very helpful man.

A couple of weeks, on average.
