Is there room for another book swap club? Hope so.

hi everyone

I'm rather new to this and as a result have missed out on the book clubs forming thus far; but I'm an avid reader and pregnant with my second child so need something to take my mind off the queasiness!

I would like to start another book swap club if there's room - I need 11 other mums!

What sort of books do you like? I've got the following books, and I'd be happy to 'swap in' one of them (or swap the lot with one person if we can't get enough people):

The White Tiger - Aravind Adiga
The Girl on the Landing - Paul Torday
Affluenza - Oliver James
Original Sin - PD James
The Private Patient - PD James

Nausea sucks - I had HG when I was pg and know just what you mean about wanting something to escape into!

Its actually a vicious combination of queasiness and rampant acid indigestion! I cannot wait for it to be over, and I'm only in my first trimester!!

The books you mention look great, exactly the sort of thing i'm into - i'm reading The White Tiger at the moment, loved Behind The Scenes At The Museum. I have a lot of 'lit fic' - modern classics like the Kite Runner or The Time Travellers Wife, stuff that's had good reviews or been shortlisted for prizes. I'm a bit of a sucker for quality control!

I guess there are different ways of doing a swap club, but maybe if everyone interested (or just you and me!) suggests 5 books, and the person below them on the list says if they've read any of them already?

Yep that sounds a good system to me! So, anyone who wants to join us, please tell us five books you've got, or what you'd like to buy and put into the mix, and whether you've read any of the ones on the list above you and hopefully by the end we'll be able to compile a final list?

(And if no-one joins us, MudandRoses let's swap a few books anyway - I can't afford any new books at the moment which is agony for a fiction addict like me...)
