I hope I've got the right book here...if I haven't, I'm sure you'll be able to tell from the unintelligible ramblings below.
I thought this was going to be mis lit and read the first few chapters with trepidation. But soon I started to love this main character; to empathise with him; to worry about him. I wanted to know how this would all pan out and how he would resolve his issues (if he would).
Best of all, I liked (in a weird way) his family. His dad, in particular, was such a strong cameo. I cried a few times over him and I loved the fact that his illness made him more compassionate and more loving!
And I was willing our lead to get the girl in the end (sappy I know, but I can't resist a good neat ending).
Russ was a great character too. I pictured him as Milo Ventimiglia (circa Gilmore girls) and could imagine his rage and frustration and acting out.
This was good. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Korma!
