Having posted this book off to Rosmerta, I immediately had second thoughts/doubts. But I found it hugely original, very engrossing and it made me think, though the subject matter is not entirely, er, pleasant...

I'm afraid to say I've failed on the very first book

I tried & tried but I just couldn't get into the story. Having said that, I do think it was well written & the characters nicely developed.

I will give it another go in the future, I just don't think I'm in the right frame of mind for this kind of book at the minute!

I did wonder that as soon as i posted it... sorry! hope you enjoy Flossie's book more, I liked it.

Don't be sorry, I will go back to it as it did seem intriguing. & it's good to get something different (unlike the one I sent)!

OK just finished reading. I only got it yesterday so that should tell you something, I LOVED it.

I must admit at first I thought wtf is going on here and then had this face for a while . But then I really got into it and couldn't put it down. It is very strange isn't it? Such an original idea though and very well written. There was a point in the middle where I thought is this going anywhere or not, but I came away from reading it very satisfied.

I have to say I only finished about 10 mins ago, so will get my thoughts together properly and come back again, but big thumbs up from me

wtf happened there?

Right, I loved and hated this book. The subject matter was dark, foul and generally quite unpleasant (I'm being rather moderate, ymaybe I should tell you what I really think of it!!? ), however... I thought that the protagonist was a character that you couldn't help but feel real sympathy for and some of the minor characters were so realistic that the literally made my skin crawl.

I finished it in 2 days and haven't had an almost physical reaction to a book like this in a very long time. That's got to be good doesn't it even if I felt quite sick? .

I love this bookclub- knew I should have been braver!
