Well, I gulped this down in a very short period of time... it's been off and on my TBR list several times as every time I picked it up I didn't think I would be able to stomach it. So it was useful to be forced to read it
I have a deeply ingrained prejudice against bestsellers so really didn't want to like this, but I thought it was very, very good: completely engrossing, and very sensitively done. I did think the heaven bits were a bit blah, and the scene near the end with Susie's not-boyfriend was unnecessary and rather marred the rest of the book. But I thought it did what it set out to do really, really well. Oh, and it made me blub in places too....
