This book was a bit of a last minute choice. I had realised, on coming to find a book, that I'm a recylcer of lit...I don't keep as much on my bookshelves as I'd thought and tend to lend things out and don't ask for them back! So my faves just weren't on the shelves to pass around.
Anyway...to the point. The book I chose is by an author who has a very unique voice in literature imo. He is dark and funny and manages to drag you screaming and kicking through great chunks of violence without making you scream 'too much, too much' and hide behind the sofa.
His people are sketched out well and his charaters are believable. His comedy is dark and his villains are generally very villainous. I like the complexity of his plots...the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels type turns that lead, ultimately to satisfying conclusions.
It's not great literature, but it's an interesting diversion. I've read novels since then that I'd love to add to the circle and these are being held on my bookshelves for just such a purpose. Hopefully my next choice will be a more worthy one
I can't quite remember which book I sent out (my brain really is turning to mush as I get older) but I think it was the initials ABBDIARA
