I enjoyed this although it took me a little while to settle in to it. Very beautifully written and the bit where they are digging for the whale is fascinating but turns into a wholly irrelevant plot point. By the end I was struggling to like the central character. Also the book is very paced but the ending felt rushed. So I think I can conclude that this wasn't for me. Perhaps I missed something 🙂. Well written, interesting but not one I would recommend necessarily.
