Would anyone be interested in forming a new book swap group for those long winter nights? Let me know!

You may want to post a thread in another bookish topic like What We're Reading (if you haven't already) because I think most people here are already in a swap. I may be proved wrong though...

No I don't think so... I've read a bit of everything over the years.

Is there a page limit?! Always a worry I won't finish if I'm on a time restraint 😂

I don’t think there’s usually a page limit but obviously we need to be sensible about length so probably not Don Quixote etc. Are you happy to do one book per month?

I am ready to start whenever.

Great! Shannon, essentially you pick a book you liked or would like to discuss and send it on to another member of the group. You will also receive a book. Once you have read the book you then send it on to the same person you sent your book to. We send books once a month (with a specific deadline) and so it goes in a circle until you eventually receive your own book back.

We create threads for each book and once you have read a particular book you post your thoughts / points you want to discuss there.

Often groups also agree to send chocolate with the books each month so we can do this too if the consensus is that everyone would like to.

Any more questions then just shout.

If everyone can please PM me your addresses and initials of your book title so I can ensure there are no overlaps that would be great.

Sounds good! And yes to chocolate! I read a lot of non fiction - is everyone else ok with a non fiction book? Won’t be too dry or heavy going, I promise!

I have no problem with non fiction, or anything else really! Yes probably best to avoid recent top sellers but equally if it’s something you really want to discuss then I don’t see why not. Also happy to include all genres although if there is anything people are keen to avoid then let us know

If you can all send me addresses and book titles in the next few days then hopefully we could do our first post by 8th December.

Any preferences regarding chocolate budget? Also, if you have any dietary requirements then please let us know
