Hello! I think this is my book.

I'm not really sure why I chose this book, I found it quite hard to find something I thought seemed 'worthy' and ended up just going 'fuck it' and picking something I had enjoyed. It is YA and actually DD (15) read it before me, she liked it too. A couple of months ago I reread it (about 6 months/a year after the first time). I don't normally like re-reading books but I think in this case knowing the ending made it enjoyable in a different way. Anyway, now I am rambling...

Hope you enjoy/find it interesting/whatever

I enjoyed this book ! Not my usual read but I really like the characters and the relationships between them all , and how Wealth isn’t always a good thing !!! I half guessed the twist , but like you did I think I’ll read it again now I know !!!

Glad you liked it!

I just finished this. I knew the twist as I looked the book up on Goodreads and can't resist the spoilers. I think the reading of the book was helped knowing the spoiler and I think I would have been confused without. All in all a good read.

Is this We Were Liars? I enjoyed it but read the first half of it wondering where it was going. I didn't see the twist coming at all.

Just finished this book. I enjoyed the story and the plot very much, a good concept with interesting characters.

I didn't always enjoy the language or the writing style, the spacing etc, just found it a bit weird and distracting.

Overall I'd give it 7.5/10. Maybe 8! I'd recommend it to some friends, probably not my DS15 or 13 yo niece though. I found it a bit disturbing and I am not sure I want to share that with them!

Again, I really appreciate that you have shared a book that I quite likely otherwise wouldn't have read because it's YA - thank you.

Chewbecca That's interesting to hear - I'm really enjoying everyone's comments

I've just finished this one and I enjoyed it. It did remind me of something else that I've read previously but I can't think what it was (not terribly helpful).

I liked the characters and the way that it was written. I did find myself getting really cross with the Aunties at one point and could almost imagine them in a MN AIBU... I loved Grandad.

Did I see the twist coming? Sort of, although I thought it might have played out slightly differently. I got to the end with some unanswered questions - I don't want to put too many spoilers on here but I enjoyed reading all of the Q&As on GoodReads afterwards and the different opinions of what really happened. Apparently there is a chapter of the original book that was 'binned' by the publisher and which would have explained some of the background.

Thank you for an interesting choice @yaela123 - it was something that I wouldn't have picked up otherwise and I'd give it an 8/10. Smile
