Of Mice and Maltesers 3 - aristocats book

i have read a few books by the author of my choice and enjoyed all of them. without giving too much away; the author is known for one of his books.

I really enjoyed this Aristo. I don't know about round 2 but when I think back to round 1, most of the books were good reads and compelling in their own ways but I don't recall a really gripping page turner which this was. It was very easy to get into from the first page and I pretty much romped through it after that wanting to know what happened next.

The only down side for me is that I just found the image of how his wife and son had been brainwashed once he found them a little unconvincing. However, it's a small gripe and didn't diminish my enjoyment of it.

I hadn't heard of the author before so had to look up on Amazon which book it was that he was well know for. I'd be interested to know which others you'd particularly recommend as I'd be keen to read more of his books.

Hi Aristo - thanks for the PM, my first in all the years I've been on MN - v exciting (possibly I should get out more!).

I generally don't read thrillers because I find them too, well, thrilling. And true to form, I started reading this one night when DH was away, and I had to stop because I was too scared to carry on.

I thought it was very far fetched, but a real page turner. I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time I was reading it. It was a book I would never have chosen to read, but I'm glad I did - it's good to get out your comfort zone, and it's a while since I read anything so gripping.

Gripping is the word, I read it all pretty much as soon as I got the book! Very cinematic, to the extent I felt more like I'd watched a film than read a book when I'd finished. Very enjoyable, an excellent choice. Thanks aristo!!

A real page-turner this one. I didn't find it that scarey then but perhaps I am just well 'ard . If I had a criticism it would be that the start all happened really quickly, from them first meeting and then the terrible camping trip. I would have liked more of a slow build up. Good choice aristo.
