I am not quite so enthusiastic as others have been about this book, although I did finish it and quite enjoyed it.
As the book is moved along mostly by dialogue, it felt at times as if I was reading a play. This was Ok in the beginning, a bit of a novelty, but by the end I really found the book lacked depth and was rather shallow, not enough substance to be really engaging.
As it was presented as a rags-to-riches/Cinderella-type tale, I was not captured by the intrigue of whether Miss P would get to stay with Delysia, as it seemed rather a foregone conclusion, as was the notion that she would somehow eventually find a man.
A lukewarm response from me. I did enjoy the illustrations though
