You were right - this was a very quick read. Took me 2 evenings.

I wouldn't have picked this book up, hadn't heard of it (although had heard of, but never read,Jonathon livingston Seagull) but I enjoyed it. The 'story' was quite easy reading and entertaining and the 'deeper stuff' was quite accessible so you didn't have to think too hard to work out what it was trying to say so you could actually think about what he was saying (not sure that makes sense). Definitely an interesting philosophy and one we should probably all aspire too - to believe we can do what we want and that we can shape our future.

A good choice Jas - something v. different for me which is the point of bookswap.

On a completely shallow point - I liked the fact the book wasn't standard book size !! I don't know if this is standard for this book or just the copy I got but I quite liked that

I'm slightly relieve that you didn't hate it!

I was a teenager when I first read it and it really affected my thinking and attitudes.

I think many of his books are the same slightly odd size. I have JLS and four others and three are the same, and the other three are large paperback sizedSmile

Sorry to crash- I too read this as a teenager, and I really loved it, found it very profound. I should probably re-read it now...

I read this book pretty quickly too Smile

I have to confess when I first saw it I thought "oh nooo" but i did really enjoy it (which I guess is the whole point of a book club Grin)

It was easy to read & really flowed iyswim. I also liked the way it finished where it began if that makes sense Grin

A very good choice!! Grin Grin

I also enjoyed this book and it is one of the more unusual books I have read. It was very easy to read but I tried not to rush it because I wanted to get the 'deeper' meaning of what he was saying. I found myself writing down some of the quotes because I liked them so much, which I think is the point of it. A great book for bringing out the 'deep questions' smart in you!
