I buy a few books from Amazon and this one grabbed my attention straightaway so I just had to but it.
I loved it and thought the story and characters were excellent - hope you like it too

Hmm, I thought this book could have been good but I am afraid I was annoyed by the huge amount of back story that filled the first third of the book - just didn't need to know half of that stuff about him being in prison. I couldn't work out if the author wanted to tell a thriller story or a story about the relationship between a father and son but either way it didn't quite work for me. Sorry! (It has reminded me that I need to watch The Wire again though after giving up on it when I was pregnant!)

unfortunately I had just read this book the month before for a RL book club. And I hadn't really liked it!

I'm not sure why it didn't grab me. I do think the characters were well presented but the story didn't have a lot of traction. I didn't find it believable that Chris and Ben would just put back a bag of money and that's that. If you really wanted to be honest, you'd report it to the police.

I also agree with artifarti that the first part of the story is way too long and not that insightful or relevant into what happens later.

Ultimately, I guess I just found it a bit boring!
