taking Prednisolone for recurrent mc - strange symptoms

Hi there - hope someone out there has some advice. After 7 m/c's and no apparent solution, I finally decided taken a different route to that offered by Professor Regan's clinic at St Mary's. I decided to look into the NK cell theory as a cause. Very luckily for me I managed to see Mr Shehata (NK cell man) at the St Helier hospital. He's put me on 25 mg daily of Prednisolone and I now hope to conceive and see what happens (if ony it were that simple!) However, I'm feeling lightheaded and dizzy even when seated and sometimes I almost lose the power in my legs when I stand, just briefly. I know I should call him, but wanted to hear of others' experience of this drug first, in case you have any reassuring advice or shared stories. I really want to carry on and see how it works for me, without giving up at the first hurdle!
Thanks all - hope to hear from someone soon.

This thread seems to have been resurrected recently so just thought I'd mention that we have a thread over on the conception board for those TTC or Pregnant on Prednisolone if you want to come and join us.

To second what kittens said, come over and join us on the Pred thread! There are now a good 20 of us there undergoing treatment and it's incredibly supportive to have others to mental over symptoms, drugs, nk cell levels, TTC, scans, intralipids etc etc. Follow the link she posted and come join us.

Hi all, can I join your thread please - appreciate it's a bit out of date but couldn't find a more recent one (very new to mumsnet).
I had 4 early miscarriages in 18 months (between 5-7 weeks), and have been referred to Dr Shehata through NHS. Have been diagnosed with high NKC (total number and % are over the normal, NCK69 are within normal range through) and have been put in 25mg Prod / baby aspirin/ vit D3 and the usual Pregnacare which I have been taking anyway. Have been on the steroids for 5 days now and apart from agitated sleep I haven't had any other symptoms, especially the hunger some people mention - I seem to have the opposite, where I feel full all the time! Just wanted to hear some success stories I guess, as this NKC therapy appears to be quite controversial? Thanks in advance and wishing everybody good luck with TTC.
Adriana x

Hi Adriana, have a look at the NK/Pred thread on the Conception board, it's very up to date with lots of lovely experienced ladies.
