Surgical, medical or natural?

I've just been for an early scan (10 wks) and discovered that the baby does not have a heartbeat. Whilst I was trying to take this in, the nurse was describing the various options which are available to me now. I have come away from the hospital with a leaflet to look (with the rather grim title I have put as the subject title). I wondered if anybody has any advice on the various options. I'm really unsure what to do next. Thanks.

I've just found myself in the same situation. Had a medical termination years ago and the thought of going through the same thing terrifies me. Thought op was the best choice, but the doc at the EPU was very negative, saying I'd have to go on the emergency list but I'd be low priority so no guarantee when I'd be seen! Just want to move on any advice?

Speak to a different one!!

I had my ERPC today - last Thurday I went to the EPU and said I wanted one and they booked me in right away. They said a week was a pretty long wait for an ERPC so I would definately get a second opinion. The first doc I saw at EPU wasnt great but the second was wonderful.

It is absolutely your choice about with method is best for you and your doctor is supposed to give you impartial factual advice about it. Would you feel more comfortable being referred by your GP since this is another option?

Hi all, thought I'd update this thread with my experience in case someone like me stumbles upon it. Had my ERPC on Weds, wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. Just feel like I've got period pain at the mo. Cried a lot before I went down to theatre, and of course the emotional side is still raw, but I feel better knowing that physically I can look forward...
