OMG< I am so gutted for mny friend

I have just spoken to my friend who is almost 9 wks pregnant.

She was scanned couple weeks ago cos history of mc and there were 2 sacs but just 1 baby. They said twin 2 would be reabsorbed. Upsetting but friend was able to deal with that, nothing had developed and body would look after it.

Today was her rescan and there are 2 babies but twin 2 is measuring 7wks with very very slow heartbeat. Sonographer said it was unable to survive with such a slow heartbeat and that it would die. Maybe the body would reabsorb it, maybe she will miscarry it.

Am so so sorry for her, she has children already but to know that at the moment there are 2 live babies in there but one is struggling and won't make it is heartbreaking.

She is being rescanned in 2 wks but sonographer doesn't think lo#2 will last that long.

how awful lia. it's horrible when you know yours friends are going through this, but there is nothing you can do to help.

lia - that is so sad, this happened to my cousin last year. Second twin managed to survive for 24hours which they were not expecting so they managed to say goodbye.

I know, you can't do anything, just so heartbreaking. I mean we all know about disappearing twin syndrome but I guess that's what happens in our world where we find out abour pregnanices so early. 50 yrs ago, she would have given birth to one baby and never have known.

She will buy it a little something like she has her other lost little ones.
