6 weeks no site of pregnancy on scan, high bhcg.

I have just got over a misscarriage that I had in oct-09. I am now 6weeks pregnant, I had a little bleeding a couple of days ago and went to epau for scan but they found nothing, i was sent for bhcg test and they came back high, they told me for my levels to be over 2000 they should of seen something, i am going back tomorrow for bhcg test again. They have told me it could be a missed pregnancy or ectopic. I dont want to loss another baby.

Hi bella, I just read your other thread, you have obviousy had an awful previous experience and I hope this time you have some better news.

Is there any chance you could be less than 6 weeks? for nothing to be seen on scan?

I beleive by my dates that i could of concieved around 4 weeks ago at the latest. They did say it could be to early, they first said they couldnt see anything, then they saw something and that was the best they could get, then they said they couldnt see anything, and with them saying at hcg 2000+ there should be something...its just confusing and stressful...I cant wait for tomorrow to be over, I wish I hadnt said anything and waited for wk 13 scan.

Im just updating what has happen, on friday had bhcg which was 2100 and again on sunday it was 3880, it had not gone up like they hoped so they called me in for scan yesturday, they found the sac and was appox 4+ weeks and was in the right place but i am still getting discharge bad and they said its a sign of misscarriage so I am still really worried have to go back in two weeks to see if it is progressing......

Hi bella I just wanted to say my thoughts are with you. I have also had a previous loss and last week I had a similar experience to the one you are going through now - scan showed nothing at 5.1 but HCG was over 3400, so doc felt could be ectopic or early mc. Second scan at 5.3 showed sac and yolk. They are now happy that things are progressing normally. I have to go back in two weeks. He advised that HCG levels were not very precise indicators and that the scan took precendence. I know how difficult the waiting is, be gentle with yourself.

Thank you floweringcurrant, its nice to hear a story similar to mine and that your prengnancy is looking normal. They only saw the sac no yolk, maybe as it is still early, but they said my hcg was the right amount for week. I am just hoping now that in 2 weeks when they scan again everything will still be ok and they see a heart beat. Good luck with your scan and hope everything goes well.x
