Just MC - what can I do to get my body ready to try again asap?

Had a mc yesterday at 6.5w. All happened naturally.
Feeling terrible and all I want to do is try again asap.
But doctor says I should give it at least one cycle because my 'uterine lining won't be good enough'.
Is that right? And is there anything I can do/take to help thicken it up.
I feel the only way to get over this is to try to be proactive and look to the future.
The thought of having to wait another two months before we can even try is not helping.

So sorry to hear it. I had a m/c last year. It is a horrible time but it will get better.

From what I read there is nothing to stop you trying as soon as you feel ready. Doctors usually suggest that you wait a month as it makes dating any subsequent pregnancy easier. I don't know if you doctor saw something on your scan - so don't want to contradict his advice.

I used acupuncture to help me get over my m/c and it was brilliant. There is a great bunch of ladies on the TTC again after M/c thread under Conception who will understand what you are going through.

I'm going to try accupuncture too.
I think when we feel desperate like this we just want to try anything we can to feel better and back in control.
Will go and have a read through the conception boards now.

I think there is wisdom in waiting for a cycle or two. I was told to wait 2 cycles. 8 weeks after erpc, I still had no period and went for a scan. My lining was 6mm - doc said that was thin for implantation to happen and so that confirmed what my gynae said about waiting. I had first period 9 weeks after. I want to have another one and then will start.

To help lining - I second accupuncture. I am also taking red raspberry leaft tablets to tone my uterus. Google it.

Sorry for your loss. I just had an mmc with my first pregnancy at 6.5 weeks but had an ERPC last Tuesday when I would have been 9 weeks as had had no physical symptoms of loss. I'm the same as you - desperate to ttc but also nervous about trying too soon and then getting disappointed for the reasons sh77 says above.

I've just come back from an acupuncture session and feel really relaxed (I had a couple of sessions when I was ttc and I swear it helped me as had just come off the pill so had no regular cycle to speak of and fell pregnany that month). My acupuncturist has been practising for 20 plus years and also is a trained GP and she said to me to wait for one period. She said this month I need to relax and take care of myself (will see her for a couple more sessions to help with that) and as soon as I get my period we should 'go for it' with the acupuncture. It's hard as really don't want to lose time and time seems top be going so slowly at the moment - I feel like the last three weeks since my first scan have really been months - but I think I should wait. Going to be hard though.

Horrid to get to 9 weeks and be told that. I'm glad in a way that it happened quickly and that it happened naturally.
I keep telling myself that a few months out of a lifetime isn't that long to wait but it doesn't feel like that at the moment.
I've also had accupuncture and after thefatladyscreams reminded me about it I called and booked a session.
I'm going to try the raspberry leaf tea capsules too - thanks sh77.
This is my second dc and it must be so hard to have this happen with your first.
If it helps I have countless friends who have had mc and then gone on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies.
It's funny but when you've had a baby you just don't expect this to happen either.
No matter when it happens it knocks you sideways I supose.
The way I see it Boos, if you try and your lining isn't thick enough to hold on to it or whatever then it won't stick and your just have your af - does that make sense?
But it it does stick then wonderful.
So I'm going to try and hope for the best.
I really, really hope you're lucky when you do try and that you get the baby you deserve.

Thanks yogamat. I know what you mean about it not sticking and then being just a AF. You're swaying my mind now .

It has been hard as it's my first but I have since found out that I know more people that have had a miscarriage than not i.e. very few of my friends that have children haven't had one. Most of them already have DCs but speaking to them I understand that a loss is still a loss. I just need to stay calm as am prone to anxiety and thinking the worst and heading down the 'it will never happen to me as I'm too old' (am 34). However, I do still feel chilled from acupuncture, so will enjoy feeling relaxed. Do you practice yoga (daft question given your name!)? I have been to a few classes - tried Bikram yoga last year before ttc - and wanted to try standard yoga again but not sure if it's ok if you're ttc and not used to it?
