Im wondering if anybody can help me.. last week i thought i'd came on my period but it was just spotting of blood i was going to the toilet at work every 10 minuites but hardly anything was coming out and it was really painfull. i was 11 days late for my period and i was just thinking i was late, as it has happened a few times. then yesterday i felt really crappy and i realised i'd came on but it really hurts in my lower back and belly area.. when i stood i was dizzy and light headed. and its much heavier than a normal period for me. please somebody write back and tell me whats happening
Thankyou in advice

if your cycles are regular then this sounds like an early miscarriage . it's probably nothing to get alarmed about physically speaking - if you were only six weeks pregnant or so (if your period was nine days late that would make you less than six weeks pregnant) then most likely any miscarriage will just be like a heavy period with some lower back pain etc. however if you are in a lot of pain obviously you should get help.

agree with kissmummy, it could be an early miscarriage. I think you should see a doctor if the heavy blood loss, pain and light headedness continue.

Sorry you're going through this lianne. It would be worth visiting your GP - she might want to send you to the EPU (early pregnancy unit) for a scan to check that if you've had a miscarriage, that there's nothing retained. They might also want to do a pregnancy test as the hormone this tests for remains in your system for a while after miscarrying (or you might indeed still be pregnant, if you were to begin with).

Has to be worth checking out, basically.
