because I really feel like shit.

am soooo tired, still getting some 'bruised' sort of pain, is uncomfortable when I poo, and i generally just feel awful.

mc happened at about 6 weeks, had bled every day for a week before but hcg was looking quite good at start... then loads of pain xmas morning and was admitted to hospital. scan showed blood in wrong places etc and everything pointed to tubal mc. Didn't have a heavy bleed until a week later (new years eve)but was still bleeding everyday.

bleeding now pretty much stopped but i feel like crap.

am also really low as had a mmc earlier in the year, wasn't picked up til 12 week scan as sac etc kept growing, had pg symptoms etc. had to have 2 erpcs to sort it... i was so paranoid it would go wrong agin this time... and it did

so , if you ignore the moan/low bit in the middle this is really a question of what is a 'normal' physical recovery after an ectopic mc?

any experience welcome as i am feeling a bit lost.

Oh Gin, I'm so sorry you're feeling so shit. I wish I had wise words to help you/comfort you. There is a leaflet on the Miscarriage Association website specifically about Ectopic miscarriage here which might help. It says that bowel pain is a normal symptom.

Come back over to the Palace and we'll give you much love...

You need to back to the doc. I had one in Nov, I didn't even know I was pg (I have a coil)and all tests were neg but what came out along with being late and pg symptoms clearly meant I had misscarried. After my bleeding started to go away my pain came, so I went to the emergency doc and spent 4 hours there being poked and proded before they decided it was an ectopic that had got infected. I was given a massive dose of antibiotics which took took a few days to kick and had a scan when I had finished them, they did help a lot but I still hurt for a good few weeks after. Also my next period was disrupted (it came at 4 weeks not 5)and hurt alot. My next period is also looking as if it will be early and the build up is causing me pain. All in all though it does take its toll but I felt much better within 4 weeks. The docs, scaning people etc did not realy seem to know much or have any answers but did check everthing out.

Thanks twinkle. sorry you had to hear me moaning again,I was aiming to give palace residents a break! Can't really handle ttc stuff at the mo,will be back at some point tho I hope. Hope you doing ok after the mc? Have wondered how you getting on.

Also thanks carrie I don't think it's infected, and the pain is nothing like when I actually mcd, that was crippling. It's more that I just feel utterly utterly drained, and bruised. Which may well be normal... The worst bit is the poo thing,it feels really horrid. Know I had blood in pouch of Douglas (which I had obv never heard of before) and this can cause pain when pooing. Just thought it would go by now. May ring doc to ask.

Its just weird,I got the impression (from docs in hosp) that a tubal mc impacts on body in different way from other earlyish mcs but I can't find any specific info. Everything is on tubal pg (which would obv have been worse than mcing it) or on mc...nothing specific to this type of mc and what damage it may cause.

Am obv also worried bout effect on fertility, tho can't stress about ttc at the mo or I'll cry.

Ooo what a monologue. Need to vent a bit I think.

Gin you're not moaning! You've been through (are going through) a really traumatic and upsetting event and it is going to take time to recover physically and emotionally. I know what you mean about the Palace thread, hard to hear everyone talking about SWI etc when you have no idea when you might be able to do that again. But (too) many of them have been through MCs and might be a source of support if you need it. I think going back to your GP is a good idea, they will hopefully have some answers about the pain and what damage it may or may not have caused. I am a novice at this MC lark (thankfully) and also found frustratingly very little information available about causes and types and effects on fertility and how long before you can try again etc.

I am still playing a horrible waiting game at the moment - a little light bleeding yesterday for a couple of hours but no pain and no clots. SO I guess I just wait it out until my next scan next week.

Take care of yourself and try to keep worrying to a minimal until you actually have some answers.

Sorry, just read that back - it's really stupid to say don't worry, of course you're worrying. I guess what I was trying to say was, you need to concentrate on letting your body recover now and taking care of yourself. x
