Miscarriage last week but want to be pregnant again

I've had 2 normal pregnancies but last week when I was 11 weeks pg, I had a miscarriage. We've been told to wait for me to have at least one period (for dating) before trying again. The trouble is I'm too impatient and feel ready to try again now! I just wondered if anyone can give any advice.

hiya. i had a miscarriage a couple of weeks ago too. I would love to be pregnant again now. The midwife said that there is no reason why I couldnt try again straight away and that period thing was just for dating purposes really.

Sorry to hear this petunia, I had one a few years ago and if you can wait until you have a period I would TBH, for your sanity really otherwise in 4 weeks time you'll be wondering if you're pregnant if AF doesn't arrive - which I doubt it will! It's hard enough having to wait 2 weeks with a normal cycle let alone after a m/c - not sure if this makes sense as I'm rushing but good luck with what you decide xx

if its any help, i have had two missed m/c (a few years apart) and i never waited for af to return before trying again. however, I never 'caught' first month trying; it often takes several months for your fertility to be back to normal (or so i was told/have read) OPK (ovulation predictor kits) might be helpful.
both times it took me three months to conceive - one time resulting in my dd2 and this time.well I'm 13wks pg currently!

hi ,just thought id post here because i had a m/c at the end of dec 01 and was pregnant by feb with my dear son and the doctor said he didnt see why i couldnt start trying straight away ... good luck xxxxxxx

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

I had a missed m/c and had procedure to remove fetus. Was then told that I could wait about 8 weeks for periods to return. 9 weeks later they didn't return and turns out I was 8 weeks pregnant. DD is now 2 and a half.

Petunia - sympathies, I am in a similar situation - MC at 11 weeks about a month ago with two normal pregnancies previously. There are lots of articles that say wait one cycle or even longer. My HV has said wait one full cycle ie two periods but a friend has said this is only so they can date things a bit more accurately. If you feel ready emotionally and physically go for it ! given that lots of people miscarry without knowing about it and keep trying there must be lots of people who don't wait iyswim.
