having 4th miscarriage

I am 30 and last friday i was told i had a missed miscarriage. I should of been 9 weeks but scan said 6+2 and no heart beat. That evening i started bleeding and now its starting to get heavier and i'm passing some small clots too. Although this is my 4th m/c this is still new to me. My first was at 13 weeks and i had a d&c, my 2nd was a blighted ovum and also a d&c. i then went on to have 4 healthy children and then 2 years ago i fell pg with twins but sadly 1 was in my tube and 1 in my womb and i lost both at 7 weeks. I was lucky to keep my tube. Now 2 years on another m/c. Does anyone know how long the bleeding will go on for and if this sounds normal. My last i m/c naturally and it took 3 weeks but i haven't had a missed m/c before. My first 2 i never bled at all untill after the d&c. Also i am really scared to get pregnant again after all this.

hi lulu i've also had four miscarriages and am in the same boat as you, waiting for the bleeding to start. It's a week since i found out i'd had a missed miscarriage. embryo died at least two weeks ago now, and still no sign at all of any bleeding. the brown blood you're getting is a "good" sign. in my experience you get a few days of that or even a week of it, and then the proper bleeding starts. at least it's a sign your body is doing what it needs to do. i have a feeling i'm going to end up with another D+C, which i was trying to avoid because of the risk of scarring. (up to 48pc risk of scarring for a third D+C - scary.)

hi lulu, so sorry to hear of your loss its so frustrating i know. Mine started off as a brown discharge and then got a bit more like a light period and it was like that for a week and then this week its been heavier and then it got really heavy with lots of clots and now its more like a heavyish period. I am hoping that it will still happen. The sac is smaller, 2 weeks ago it measured 17mm and now its 13.5mm and its a weird shape and it is completely empty where as last scan there was a baby and a yolk sac. My first 2 mc's i had to have d&c's so after having 2 i am not so keen. My last mc was natural but the bleeding took 3 weeks and the sac came out around the 2nd week. My last mc started with a red and brown discharge so i think its a good sign yours has started. Try and give it a week or so if your are happy to and see what happens. Some women will miscarry within a few days and some like myself will take longer. I think it depends on how quickly your hormone levels drop as well. Thanks for the msg daisytaylor and kissymummy, I will email you daisytaylor, it is definatly helps me talking about it with others, especially as we are all in the same boat. I thought I was going to have to have another d&c but I am glad the brown blood is a good sign, I def don't want another d&c and I didn't know the risk of scarring rises in your 3rd d&c the nurse didnt explain this. Hopefully luck will be on myside for once and it will come out naturally.

Kissymummy - It was only a week ago I was told I had a missed miscarriage and only yesterday noticed the brown blood so fingers crossed yours will start soon so you don't have to have that d&c. Have you had any tests to find out why you keep miscarrying? The hospital said they wouldn't refer me as all mine have been different but I went to my docs who has reffered me and my appointment is on 5th November so I am pleased it is so quick.

Hi everyone how are you all? I'm still playing the waiting game.

Hi all, not been on here for a while and thought i would update and hopefully get some answers. I have now been bleeding for just over 3 weeks. Last week i lost what looked like the sac and placenta and another clot and then on wednesday i started to bleed really heavy soaking through my clothes and i lost about 10 huge clots. By the end of the day it eased up and i thought that was it but over this weekend the bleeding is getting more like a heavyish period and this morning i passed another biggish clot. Has anyone else had this sort of experience. I feel fine in myself and only have mild pains and i don't think i have an infection. I have another scan on tuesday so i guess i will find out more then, i just want this to be over with. Its becoming really hard to try and move on now. Any help is very much appreciated.
