Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

If you mc'd naturally, how long was it after it finished that you had your next AF?

I know they say 4-6 weeks but is that 4-6 weeks from the beginning or end?

Am planning to wait one cycle before ttc again. I know we prob don't need to but I would want to be sure on dates, plus I feel a need to "get back to normal" as it were.

hiya, mine was exactly 34 days after natural miscarriage, im still waiting for my af after my 2nd miscarriage (erpc) which was on new years eve.

needanothermiracle · 22/01/2009 16:20

I was told to count the first day of the miscarriage as day 1. My next af arrived about 34 days later (about 1 week later than the norm). Hope this helps.

kingfix · 22/01/2009 16:21

28 days after mc began. Good luck ttc.

Thanks Kingfix

I think it all depends how quickly your HCG levels drop and how high they were to start with. 3 weeks post a natural MC, my positive line on a Sainsburys test was getting fainter, but if I was TTC, I'd have still called it a BFP !!

I thought I ovulated (all the signs - cramps, EWCM) around day 34 post MC, but on day 36, I started bleeding - so light I barely needed a pad and this lasted for 8 days. My guess is an anovulatory cycle, as I didn't have any PMT whatsoever. I kept hoping it was an implantation bleed, did a PG test with FMU on Christmas Eve and got a very very very very faint positive (I wouldn't have declared a BFP from it, but it was there !) - 7 weeks post MC

Tested on Dec 27th - emphatic BFN and the AF bitch from hell arrived on Jan 19th - almost 11 weeks after the MC

30 days after the sac came out.
Both times.
Both were very heavy periods too

Sorry to hear that Aquababe

The second mc happened after I waited one cycle so after that I waited a little longer.
Don't think it makes too much difference medically, but you have to be mentally prepared just in case it should happen again. I couldn't have coped with three in a row.

Hope it all works out for you

Leningrad that must have been a very long 11 weeks.

It does seem to vary depending on how far along the pregnancy is. Mine was an mmc at nearly 9 weeks but the pregnancy didn't make it past 5 and a half to six weeks and the hormone levels matched that so I am hoping mine won't take too long. No way of knowibg though really....

5 weeks.

Hi wasabi, I got af 28 days after my mc... as joolsiam says I think it depends on how quickly your hcg levels drop. I did a Clearblue digital test yesterday and it was neg despite having two positives on Saturday, so I guess mine are falling fast, which as far as ttc again goes is a good thing.

Hi there

I had a natural miscarriage on the 10th December.. I stopped bleeding on the 23rd December (13 day bleed), and got a negative HPT on the 24th December.. I ovulated on the 31st December / 1st January, which was 21 days after MC and I used OPK as soon as bleeding stopped to detect this.. Although we did plenty of BDing, it was not to be and I got my AF on the 17th January which was 16/17 days after ovulation and 37 days after MC.

My AF was very very heavy and I also had very painful ovulation pain too.

AF finished on Friday, so I am gearing up again to TTC and DH is keen but it's hard! Especially when all my friends and family are either pregnant or just had babies!

Hope this info helps someone?

bluesatinsash · 25/01/2009 16:22

Hi wasabi

My natual mc was on 31st Aug and AF returned on 23rd Septembet and lasted 3 weeks. AF then came on 25th October and I fell pg on or around 6th Nov (sadly bean stopped growing at 6 weeks and had ERPC on 1st January). AF came today, 25 days after ERPC and pretty much in tune with my cycle (which is normally 27 days).

As we're being investigated I'm on strict instruction not to fall pg but couldn't face it just now anyway, all that knicker checking and stress and heartache BUT its hard to switch off from ttc and I'll be getting itchy around ovulation time...

Headfairy - I remember you from ttc an August baby thread, sorry to hear you have had another mc , your posts were always so upbeat!

HeadFairy · 26/01/2009 14:22

Hi bluesatinsash... thanks for that. I'm not feeling too bad. I'm glad I've taken a week off work. Last time I only took a day off and that was just plain silly. I'm quite enjoying pottering around with ds a the cm all day long I can do lots of things that I can't usually do with him around (lots of mn'ing )

So sorry to hear about your problems, it sounds like you've had a rotten time. I hope the investigations come up with something that's easily fixable.

Sorry for hijacking your thread wasabi, hope you're ok. I'm just down to brown spotting now 5 days after mc, with the occasional extra bit of new blood. Last time I bleed on and off for two weeks, and stopped almost as soon as I'd mc'd so I expected this time to have more bleeding afterwards, as I hadn't had any before. How are you doing?

wasabipeanut · 26/01/2009 14:51

Hey Head Fairy - no probs with the hijack! We are all in this together. Glad to hear you are taking it easy. I'm doing ok but the bleeding is doing my head in. Every time I think after a massive flood and lots of, well, something more solid, I think that has to be it, it has to start winding down now.

But it isn't. Actually not too bad this pm but this morning was a nightmare - soaked 2 pads in about half an hour trying to give ds breakfast and pretend everything was fine and take delivery of a hire car at much the same time.

Stress doesn't quite cover it. Got an appt at clinic tomorrow to check on progress - I just hope they confirm it's all out

Oh poor you, that sounds awful. Mine hasn't been much worse than a heavy period, but I did have a big blob of stuff, about the size of a two pound coin come out on Friday so I think I may have been lucky and that it mostly came out in one go. I do get a bit stop start with the bleeding though which is annoying me, every time I think it's winding up I get a fresh bit of bleeding. I'm fully expecting some more this afternoon because I've been scrubbing our deck and I'm sure the over exertion hasn't helped. It's very theraputic though, scrubbing my frustration away!

rosie15977 · 29/01/2009 17:17

Hi, i has miscarriage on 24th November and my next AF came on 24th December. I am now on day 36 of next cycle and waiting.

eNABlemetobebetter · 29/01/2009 17:19

Mine was 5 weeks and I think it was from when I had passed the feotus.

Sorry, that sounds like an awful way of putting it but didn't know what else to put.
