Can anyone help me? I feel upset and confused

Hello everyone,
Well, I'll be 6 weeks pregnant tomorrow but feel like it's very touch-and-go
Had +ve preg test on cycle day 25 with niggly period pain up to day 38 convinced I was going to miscarry with all the usual pre-menstrual symptoms. Then had no pain for 3 days. Did another pregnancy test and again it was +ve and I got excited but unfortunately today the period pain has returned and I feel pre-menstrual again
I did put up a previous post and several helpful people replied saying they had similar experience and went on to have a successful pregnancy.
I have made an appt for a scan at the local hosp for this coming Monday (26th).
Am so scared it will be bad news.
Had 2 mc's last year so am so desperate for this 1 to be ok.
Any feedback on anyone's experiences would be so helpful and will help me get through until Monday when I'll know either way. Am trying to keep it together but it's just so hard.

I can't really help with your situation - I suspected nothing till I miscarried naturally.

Mild cramps are good though. Everything is stretching inside and organs are moving to make way for the baby so there will be some cramping

Sorry to hear about your previous losses.

It is a very frightening time once you get pg again, I know.
However, there is no reason why this pg shouldn't have the outcome that you want.
Niggly period pains in the first trimester are very common particularly around the time that a period would be due so I wouldn't read too much into that. Difficult, I know, when you are dreading every ache and hoping it doesn't mean anything untoward.
Take each day one at a time. I used to tick them off in a diary. Hopefully, the days ticked off will turn into weeks then months for you.
Although Monday seems a long long way off it will arrive and hopefully your scan will reassure you.

I'm sorry for your previous losses and understand entirely why you would be scared.

When I was pg with my ds I had period type pain and cramping early on as well as a little spotting from time to time and everything was fine. I also had the PMS bloaty feeling at the start as well.

I have just mc'd on 2nd pg and I had no cramping to start with at all (although sure as hell am having some now). I think the cramping is usually your lo settling in and making itself comfy! I would personally find it reassuring.

Me too, Wasabipeanut - we seem to be in similar situations.

I had period cramps all the way through first trimester with my ds. It was scary, but it was just the uterus stretching.

Then no pain before starting to miscarry this 2nd pg.

This sucks, a lot.

AuntieFlo - please don't worry - I was convinced that 1st pg was not going to work and then after 9 months and a bit of pushing (and major abdominal surgery) out popped ds.

This time pretty confident, then it all went wrong.

I know you are worried, but the chances are you will be fine.

Nigella we do indeed seem to have a lot in common! I had to have the surgery bit too

Thanks to all you for your replies. You've given me food for thought and a little light to carry with me.
Miscarriage is one of the hardest things us girls go through.
I just haven't felt like my old self for a while.
Roll on Monday anyway.

Coping with a mc is a strange thing I think. I have eaten a lot of chocolate, watched too much Sex and the City on DVD, and am about to self medicate with red wine.

Still, the way I look at it - I am v. sad now, but we will probably start trying again at the beginnig of March. That's not too far away.

Mine is 16mo and a rascal too! Mercifully, I am not moving house tomorrow - good luck with that!

Yes I've been self medicating with red wine too. I think I am ok most of the time but I've just seen a mail from a friend announcing that they are expecting their 1st and got all upset. I'm getting a bit freaked out at the scale of blood loss too. It started to hurt a lot more last night and when I went to the loo, it was quite scary.

Maybe it gets better from here. Hope so.

AuntyFlo - I know what you're going through is so hard but just try to have a little fun this weekend - like Nigella and Wasabi were saying - drink red wine! I find this is rather comforting as well - not just the drink - but hanging out with my dh, having wine, talking, and laughing. We also go out or we'll watch movies - which I find is a great way to get your mind off things because they take you into another place. Good luck with your scan on Monday. xoxo

Well, Friday's nearly over Sounds awful wishing my life away but.....
A good suggestion of yours to go out for a bit. Am just so exhausted emotionally and physically.
Am lopping on the sofa when I can and wathcing dvd's and tv.x
