Very confused can anyone help?? Not sure what to think!

Hi everyone, I wonder if anyone can help me...I had a mmc and an ERPC in early October. I had my first af mid-November. It was heavy and intense for about 48hrs and then tapered off after a couple more days. All bleeding then stopped. We did not ttc at all until after I'd had this first post-mc af.

We started ttc again after this first af and I used ovulation tests to pinpoint my fertile time (I had positive ovulation tests for about 24hrs). We bd during this time!! On day 23, I had some tiny dark brown bleeding and same again on day 24. On day 25, I thought af had started early and I was very disappointed. However, the flow didn't really get going as such and this continued for several days until I thought it had all finished last Weds. Not so, I've had several wipes of dark bleeding, once or twice each day since.

Feeling confused, I thought I'd do an hpt to rule out pg but it has just come back +ve (very strong line). I'm now confused. Could the hpt be +ve because of my mmc in early October? Or am I pg and if I am, then why do I have this dark brown spotting?

If it helps, I did a PG test 3 weeks after my MC on Nov 11th and it was pretty much a BFN (or a very very faint BFP if you were looking for one), so I think the hormones should have been out of your system by now.

The bleed to me sounds like it could be implantation bleeding ? You ARE more positive after a miscarriage, so it could well be - I really really hope you get the result you want

More positive - should read more fertile

I think it sounds like you could be pregnant and that you had an implantation bleed. Congratulations!

Ovulation predictor kits usually come up positive if you have hcg in your wee (although I'm not sure what level they respond to). Therefore, if you had had negative on the OPK before getting a positive, this would make it more likely that your recent pregnancy test positive is from a new pregancy than a hangover from your m/c. Unless you had some retained products after your ERPC, you would be very unlikely to still be testing positive from an m/c in early Oct.

neolara, yes, I had 3-4 days of negative ovulation tests before two days of positive ones, then then went negative again.

This pg business is not straightforward is it?!!

Hi kudu firstly sorry for your loss, i had a m/c on the 4th nov, and still testing positve. Saying that i am having a very light pinkish bleed now and again.

so i think it may be another m/c or implantation bleed. I also tested a very strong positive this morning. Let us know what happens kudu.

arena - thanks for your reply. My spotting has about gone today, haven't had anything come out since I wrote my last post yesterday. I did a second test and that was also strong +ve so I will take it as fact and contact my m/w sometime this week. Hope things work out for you - do you think you are also pg?

I've having a similar dilemma - have had start / stop pinky red watery / mucousy bleeding for 24 hours now Put a pad in this morning but it has barely touched it, so not much there and not very AF like.

Confused and hopeful at the mo !!

Kudu- yes i really do think that im pregnant again, i feel so sick every evening, have sore boobs to, am going for a bloodtest this week, i will let you know.

The bleeding comes and goes, its so light not like a period, good luck to you as well.

And to think that I only did an hpt because I wanted to rule OUT being pg! I think it took about 4hrs for the shock to wear off

Hey kudu funny you say that, because thats hte only reason i did a pregnancy test, tomake sure that the hormones have left my body. Only to be surprise to see a very strong positive and pregnancy test not getting fainter, its being 6 weeks since my m/c and still testing strong positive.

Just an update.....I had an early scan today and got to see a little foetus and a lovely little heartbeat!! My spotting stopped around about the time of my last post on this thread so I was hopeful things were progressing but to actually see the heart beating today was awesome!
