A lot of questions - please help...

I had some severe cramping on the left side so Dr sent me to A&E to have a scan in case it was ectopic. Luckily not ectopic but scan showed fetal sac, yolk sac but no fetal pole and they said that based on the measurements that the embryo is more like 5 weeks rather than 5 weeks 5 days.

They are sending me for an hcg test on Monday to see if I had an early miscarriage and I'm really worried.

Is there a chance that the embryo will be ok or is just growing slowly? I have 26 day cycles - does this change anything?

Any advice or reassurance very much appreciated.

Sorry you're going through such an uncertain time. A 5 day discrepancy between your dates and the scan dates really isn't unfeasible for a healthy PG-easily explained away if you conceived a few days after ovulation say. They are likely to want to do 2 HCG tests to check that the numbers are going up (so they are likely to do another one on Wednesday if they didn't do one today, to get readings 48 hours apart)

FWIW I was in a similar position - and my discrepancy was 2 weeks, and all was well with the PG.
