hi christiana, thank you for caring...i am ok...phoned bosses to tell them i will be off tomorrow as i need a rest and friday as i have my scan...actually told mil about that as she phoned...was in tears alll morning but decided to go out to feel normal iyswim...i have been feeling sick as usual...to be honest, part of me still hopes that there is a healthy baby in my belly...but i also prepare for the worse...hard to explain. keep checking my knickers though...and feel that i don't have sore breasts anymore. Gp told me last night that nothing said on the paper written by Dr at scan that i had a miscarriage so i should still be positive.
i don't want to have false hopes but i can't help it...

It is so horrible for you, this waiting.

Thinking of you.

Hi Lalatele, Sorry you are going through this. I know how hard it is not to get your hopes up - I have been in a similar situation twice when baby was too small for what I knew were my dates and I did not have a good outcome . Hope you can find things to help you cope until Friday when you will find out. Thinking of you.

hey all.. not that well...littles dc has been sick all night so haven't slept....had terrible diarrhoea last night but just one off.. today, told my friend about what is happening and told me to go to the harley fetal medical centre as they have the best equipment to find out a heartbeat even before 6 weeks...
should i go? springflower, have u managed to have a healthy pregnancy since? i can't believe my 1st pregnancy went so well...
did drs tell u what is the reason why th fetus has not grown?

Hi lalatele, sorry you are going through this Slow growth is usually a sign all is not well, but I have heard stories where growth has been slow then suddenly picked up. I have had 3 m/c where growth was delayed, then stopped. They were all missed m/c so I still felt pregnant each time.

i am taking my dc to a play group...hopefully i will be better..dc has not eaten in 4 days now and is terribly irritable...i was going to stay home today but he does not like it. Also, to all who were in the same situation as me(poor growth), did you bleed at any time or did you have it removed?

All mine were missed m/c. I had spotting with all of them, but very infrequent - and late with the 3rd one (12 weeks).

I have had 3 missed m/c. The first two I had a bit of bleeding, the third (after the birth of my two DCs) no bleeding.

First two I had no morning sickness. Next two (successful pregnancies) I was sick as a dog until 20 weeks. With the third, my morning sickness tapered off so I was not so surprised that I was miscarrying.

All of my m/c were similar in that the fetus just did not develop as it should.

I am sorry not to be able to give you more hope.

I don't think that there is such a huge difference between the medical equipment that they could pick up more, if the fetus is measuring small then it will pick that up on less expensive machines. The only thing I could imagine is that you might see the heartbeat earlier on a more detailed scan.

If you really cannot wait, then go for the scan, but remember that the scan is only telling you the results. It does not change the fact that you are having a m/c or not. You just know earlier.

Hi again Lalatele, I have had 4 miscarriages - 2 and then 3 children then another 2 and have now officially given up. the two times when I had seen heart beat but it was small for dates I never got a reason. First time (1st pregnancy) there was a clot nearby and so I had had bleeding and they suspected a molar pregnancy as my levels were high but baby kept growing just not enough - next time nothing was really said. I had gone at what I thought was 9 weeks and it measured 7 weeks but I convinced myself I must have ovulated late but when I went back 2 weeks later they didnt say what the size was just that there was no heartbeat. If I had thought about it there was no way with the date I got my positive test that I could have been that far out but after my 3 successful pregnancies I wasnt really thinking about anything being wrong. The first time I miscarried naturally and the second time I had the medical management after waiting a week to see if anything would happen itself. I would say that it doesnt sound good but it depends what kind of person you are whether to wait or go privately - it would let you know earlier and give you some peace of mind.

thanks all...i have decided to wait until friday and if the results are not conclusive, i will go to harley street in the afternoon...i also want to know why i have a tendency to miscarriage...don't know where to be referred to for that...it sounds like i really have to prepare for the worse and as u say mmelindt, if i am having a mc, even paying 200 pounds to know earlier is not worth it. My friend told me her friend had tendency to miscarry and after the third prgnancy and people had told her it was not going well, she went to harley street and got some kind of hormomnal treatment which saved her baby but in my opinion, although i would love that pregnancy to go ahead, i don't think i should go against nature...
lots of love to all of u and thank u for your support...

I think that you are right to wait. Tbh, I tried all kinds of things on my second pregnancy, including hormones and bed-rest. I honestly believe that there is no holding back nature, if you are going to miscarry there is nothing that you can do. There is no blame and there should be no guilt.

I think that UK is the same as Germany, in that they will likely not investigate the cause of your m/cs until you have had three. It is very sad and distressing, to think that there might be something simple that could be done. Saying that, the fact that you already have a DC means that your body is capable of carrying a child to term so that is good news.

Take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear that. I don't normallly do hugs but you need them ((hugs))

Take care of youself and give youself time.

I had d&cs as it is recommended here on the continent. The procedure is ok and it does get it over with.
