yes, I had dd2 after 2 m/cs. Sorry that you are going through this.

Crimboprocta · 11/12/2008 21:49

I had mmc at 11 weeks (6 weeks on scan) in Oct 2006. Then another mmc at 9 weeks (8 weeks on scan) in Aug 2007.

Decided to give up trying for a bit as I was starting a new job mid October 2007. I conceived two days after starting it. My period started and stopped after two days, which had never happened before.

Bled at about 7 weeks, so thought it was happening again. When a 7 week scan showed a heartbeat, I sobbed and sobbed. I'd prepared myself for the worst again but had never expected it to be alright. The sonographer asked if it was a planned pregnancy!

Rest of the pregnancy was textbook. DD was born July 2008. I think that maybe I can't carry boys (sorry dh!)

Agree that you'll find that many people go through this, and will only share once it happens to you.

hollyivypoppy34 · 11/12/2008 21:51

yes and problems in third but dd now asleep upstairs.

echo berolina's advice for friend who had 3 mcs on aspirin

keevamum · 11/12/2008 21:57

Normal first pregnancy then 2 m/c and then another healthy pregnancy.

muddyboots · 12/12/2008 21:24

Had my first miscarriage 2 years ago (which is why I thought I'd look at the miscarriage pages on here tonight) Then had a second miscarriage 7 months after that.

My 14 week old baby is now sleeping upstairs. Stay strong and determined and it will all be ok. Some people are just desperately unlucky and it's so unfair but it doesn't mean it'll happen again. Lots of love to you.

pombear · 12/12/2008 21:57

Yes, and was hard to believe all through the pregnancy that 'made it'. It never feels like you're going to make it, unless you do, though, so no matter all the success stories, I know how hard it is to be 'in the moment' of not being pregnant, after being pregnant before. To anyone who's going through m/c at the moment, there are many of us out there who know what you're going through. And many of us who have got where we wanted to in the end...not that it helps that much to hear it at the time. Thoughts go out to all of you.

So sorry that you have had to go through this, i understand completely how you feel, i started TTC in Feb'08, 1st M/C April - 5wks, natural m/c, blighted ovumn, got pregnant again straight away, everything was going great with seeing and hearing the heartbeat only to suffer a missed m/c at 12wks at the end of July, i then fell pregnant again(wasn't actively trying this time, another m/c, chemical pregnancy 4-5wks. I got blood tests done by my doctor which all came back normal, she is putting it down to bad luck and that i got pregnant too soon after each m/c. I am currently taking 6months off TTC which will bring me up to March'09 in order to allow myself and my body time to heal and recover from everything that has happened. No doctors have mentioned baby asprin to me BUT i have decided next time i try and get pregnant it is definately something i will be looking into. I wish you the best of luck for future pregnancies

redtabby · 18/12/2008 16:27

Like snoopdog I also had 3 mcs but am now 14 weeks pregnant. I was put on aspirin and progesterone this pregnancy, don't know if that made the difference or just coincidental, but don't give up hope!
PS I am 45 and had all but given up before falling pg this time

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 18/12/2008 16:32

I had 2early mcs then concieved ds who is now 5. I then ttc for 8mths and had ammc found at 15wks then 3mths later caught with dd1[3] and had dd2 12mths after that and am now nearly 14wks with no.4 so it can happen

Noleeen · 18/12/2008 21:13

Redtabby Sorry for your previous losses but congrats on your current pregnancy. I am 26 years old and have also suffered 3 m/c but your experience has given me hope

chandellina · 29/12/2008 20:12

yes i had two unexplained miscarriages within four months. we then had no luck for two years, which was super stressful as those were the years aged 36 to 38. Just before i turned 38 i conceived DS, naturally, after two failed IVFs. i was given a 5% chance of a third IVF working but fell pregnant in the cycle before i was due to try again.

i took baby aspirin and progesterone suppositories on the third time lucky.

MakemineaGandT · 29/12/2008 20:16

me. Have had two boys since first two pregnancies ended in m/c

Don't despair!

higgle · 30/12/2008 14:00

Mee too, DS1, followed by 2 miscarriages then DS2 - discovered I was pregnant with DS2 the afternoon I was booked to see gynaecologist about the problem. A very grim time in my life - but I did seeem to know from day 1 sort of instinctively that DS2 pregnancy would be OK

Fozzie78 · 30/12/2008 20:29

Hi Everyone, I have had2 MMC's one in January and another in October, I had 1st cycle after 5week wait after Med Management and I have just found out im pregnant again, im just over 4 weeks so too early for a scan. Where wold I get baby aspirin from as ive also heard this will benefit? im booked to see my doctor but not able to get in until 12th Jan to see the doctor I want to see. Does the doctor have to prescribe progesterone and aspirin? thnx

AnnaBeck · 05/01/2009 21:40

Yes - happened to me. Two MC's in 6 months between DS and DD. We decided to leave it for a few months as I was exhausted by the whole thing and felt as though I had spent most of the year pregnant or "trying"(luckily we had no fertility problems)or miscarrying. In the spirit of enjoying ourselves, we had a boozy lunch a month after 2nd MC followed by some "afternoon delight" and I was pregnant again. I felt odd about the whole thing as to be honest as I was looking forward to just enjoying myself for two or three months!!! That said, I HAD started to taking folic acid after the last mc to "prepare my body" for when we did start trying again and I am convinced this helped. (My obstetrician said this really would make a difference although it could have course just been fate). My DD was born in July 08 - I did spend the first 5 months in a bit of a panic and think I took a preg test twice a week for the first 16 weeks (cost a fortune!). Please don't be disheartened - I am sure it will happen for you.

VJay · 06/01/2009 10:00

I am pg again now, about 6 weeks, so lets hope it is third time lucky.

AnnaBeck · 06/01/2009 11:17

Good luck - am sure you will be fine this time.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 06/01/2009 11:24

Congratulations VJay

I had 2 mmc - April 2008 and June 2008. Got my BFP in September and am now 22 weeks pg. It does happen. Hope everything works out well for you this time.

Daynee · 06/01/2009 13:37

VickyJane - I just had my 3rd miscarriage. I don't want to scare you but I honestly hoped 3rd time would be the charm! Apparently, there is no way of knowing what will happen. Is it simply just bad luck or what? Keep us posted.

It's nice to hear all these stories. I believe it will happen for me. I just don't want to have to go through another miscarriage. I certainly don't want to have nine Talk about bad luck!

Does anyone know anything about possible antibodies killing off the foreign matter in your body. I read that this could happen...

VJay · 06/01/2009 18:28

Daynee I'm so sorry you've mc'd again, will you be having it all investigated now? Good luck for whatever happens xx

Daynee · 06/01/2009 20:06

Hey VJay - I've actually had testing done already. No viruses, no chromosome abnormalities...had an HSG and uterus is "perfect" as the doc said. So, now I have to meet with doc to see what tests she wants to run next. I think it will be a test for blood clotting and maybe something with antibodies.

I actually wish it were something that I could put a label on, throw back some meds, and be done with it. Odds are though that nothing is found, everything is just dandy, and that's it's all just bad luck....How could one have this much bad luck -- pray tell?!

How are you getting along with work and/or daily life?

I find I can't seem to stop thinking about my situation. I hope, I curse , I doubt , I pontificate, I worry , I cry , I laugh , yadda yadda yadda...it's hard not to think about it!

When will you have your next scan?

Fozzie78 · 06/01/2009 20:18

Hi did anyone see that woman on GMTV ormaybe This Morning I cant remember which one but it was a couple of months ago, she has reoccurring miscarriages and her consultant took blood and sent it off for a series of 22 tests, she had tried everything else but nothing was found to be wrong until these tests were carried out so it may be worth a mention to your doctor, hers was due to lack of folic, it was to be increased to 50 instead of the usual recommendaton of 40.

VJay · 07/01/2009 13:53

Hi Daynee, I'm feeling very anxious at the moment, I had some brown spotting last friday, but nothing since. I'm seeing my doc again on Tuesday, and she's going to retest me to check I'm still pg....so it's just a waiting game. I am feeling so sick though so I must be I don't know when I'll have a scan, probably at the 12 week mark.
