Miscarriage screening results have stolen all hope

I have had two losses following two rounds of IVF in the past 9 months. The consultant allowed me to proceed with a miscarriage screening and the results have just come through as positive for lupus anticoagulant and speckled positive for ANA.

Does anyone have any experience with this results and can give some more information. I felt like once she said the results I almost went underwater and couldn’t hear a word she was saying.

I have been referred to a Rheumatologist for further testing for autoimmune diseases.

TIA

I'm so sorry for your losses. Finding something with screening isn't necessarily a bad thing - clotting disorders can be managed with anticoagulants for example. You'll need to speak to your specialist for your specific needs but please don't be too disheartened. In some ways finding something is better than not because you know what to fix. Xx

Sorry you are going through this. I’m ANA positive and have other markers but no diagnosed disease and it’s not lupus. But just want to send hugs and say I miscarried three times, had two unsuccessful IVFs and amazingly had two successful pregnancies at ages 38 and 42.

Thank you @Hairsterical @Moosey898 you have both made me feel a lot better. I’m booked in with a rheumatologist next week so will hopefully get some answers.

@Hairsterical do you mind telling me if they gave you medication to help you have your two children? I have been told it’s a strong positive as it has a speckled appearance so am just really worried.
