Found out today there's no baby

So, 12 week scan today. I was expecting bad news as I'd started bleeding on the weekend. However I wasn't expecting not to see anything on screen..I figured there'd be a fetus with no heartbeat. Instead it was just a blood clot.
Waiting to hear from hospital as to next steps but just wondered if anyone else has had similar?

A similar thing happened to me March last year. Had a bit of light spotting so paid for a private scan at 9.5 weeks. The scan showed no baby. They called it an anembryonic pregnancy/ blighted ovum and the following week I had surgical management, which was absolutely fine. They didnt mention a blood clot for me though so perhaps not quite the same.

Yes me too so far. Far better treatment than when I actually had my previous kids!
