I can't decide on a title-my son seeing babies that are not there

So a bit of a weird one and I don't know what my beliefs are. I have a 3.5 year old and I have had 5 pregnancy losses in the last 18 months. My son has been so serious when he has made these comments. This has happened on separate occasions now. The first time he told me there was a baby by the front door (we live in the sticks) Today he told me there is a baby on the floor next to me. He then started running around a carpeted area and said that he was playing with the baby. Anyway, it gave me shiveres. We never told him about these pregnancies. Maybe it's just what he has picked up from his childcare and his imagination, but it has had me shook everytime now.

He’s at an age where all his peers are having baby siblings, it’s very normal

I can understand how this is triggering for you OP but if he’s not aware of the losses it sounds to me very much like he is just into babies at the mo. Nearly all toddlers love babies and it’s most likely to do with what he’s hearing at his childcare.
Sending you well wishes though as I’m sure it’s been more than tough for you x

That must be very hard for you to hear given the circumstances, but playing mum's and dad's with imaginary babies is common at that age, especially if he plays a lot with real babies at nursery.

Thanks everyone. I don't know why I felt like I needed to share, but I felt as if I needed to get it off my chest. It is hard to hear and I have questioned what my responses are, not much to be honest. Children have great imaginations. Hopefully one day it will be real. Thank you 😊
