Am I silly to think that I might still be pregnant?

Hi. 7 Weeks pregnant on Saturday and started to bleed on Saturday with cramps. Been to hospital today and p-test said positive. Scan couldn't find anything so now having blood tests. I really thought I had miscarried until left hospital and now feel really unsure. Hate the not knowing. Anyone with any advice?

Oh poor you being so unsure, you must be very worried. What kind of bleeding was it? When you said the scan couldn't find anything, do you mean it couldn't find anything wrong? What did the hospital say?

Sorry to bombard you with questions, just trying to get a clearer picture...

Don't want to worry you but a pregnancy test could still be showing postitively as it takes a while for the hormones to leave your body - hence the blood test.

On the other hand, I had a sort of normal period when I was expecting ds (enough blood to use a tampon, cramps etc ).

Best wait for the test results. Let us know how you get on.

Hi. The bleeding is quite red with occasional blobs. And the scan...well TBH the lady who did the scan (sonographer?) was quite rude and at one point said to me "are you pregnant?". She said that because my period cycle is long and sometimes irregular that it might mean that it simply wasn't big enough for her to find. So now i've got to wait for blood test results. Just hate the not really knowing!

She sounds a bit rude, and by the sound of it not very reassuring.

When do you get the results of the blood tests? Will they then do another one a few days later to compare HCG levels? Do you think the sonographer could be right in thinking the baby couldn't be big enough for her to find? Do you know if she saw a sac?

I think in the position you're in you're going to have to resign yourself to waiting. I know that's not much comfort, but remember that if everything is okay you will find this out before long. I really hope this is the case.

Hi Charlies Mum. I will have another blood test on Wednesday that should give an indication - but I guess the results won't be immediate! The Sonographer said she couldn't find a sac. I guess I'll have to wait, I'm sure it's going to be a long week! Thanks for the advice

Rude? she sounds bang out of order.

I went to a hospital which has a bad reputation and received nothing but kindness.

I'd get your dp or a friend along for the next appointment tbh.

If you've got a BFP then there must be something going on. Really hope you get good news when you get the results of the test - please do let us know.

Hi. Thanks for everyone's support. It was confirmed on Wednesday that my HCG levels had dropped over the 2 tests, so they confirmed the miscarriage. I'm obviously gutted but hopeful for the future.

I'm so sorry. You must be devastated, especially after all the messing around and uncertainty. Poor you.

I'm thinking of you x
