Question about bleeding after medical evacuation following missed miscarriage-Help!

Hi everyone, I've just gone through another missed miscarriage just over 4 weeks ago-this was my second missed miscarriage following a stillbirth 20 months ago so I'm really not having a good time! Anyway, following my medical evacuation I bled for about 10 days which I was told would be normal. Since then I've had a brownish and clear discharge on and off and the other day I presumed I had started my period-the only problem is that it doesn't look right and isn't like a period-it's a dark brown colour and any red blood that does come through is mucusy. It's also only been 4 weeks and I was told my period would return in about 6 weeks time as it did last time. I was also told my period would be heavier than normal but it's only coming in bits and is really light. Any idea if this could be normal or if there could be a problem and if so, what? I don't want to bother my GP if I don't need to-I hate coming across as a hypocondriac! Any advice greatly received. Thanks x

chrissiew17, im sorry to hear about your mc am just bumping here cos' i could not help you much in this topic.
mine was like that a few days back, coming in bits n brown, sometimes with a bit of reddish- blood (TMI) and nows its totally finished. maybe it might be normal but just check with your epu if you think theres something to worry or if theres still retained products..
take care xx

So sorry to hear about everything you've been through - it sounds terrible. I think that following miscarriage or ERPC it can really vary and lots of things that seem strange are actually normal but there's always the worry that something has been left as some people are unlucky enough for this to happen. You could try your EPU or your GP - I'm sure most dont mind and understand that you might be anxious. Or, check what the symptoms are of retained 'products' e.g. pain, smelly discharge etc - I'm not sure - I've had straight forward mc's so far.
