Why is my test showing up as positive still?

I got pregnant back in February.
Beanies HB slow at 6+6.
At 7 week scan showed beanie had stopped growing and no HB.
I then started bleeding and passing large clots. After 2 weeks had a scan which showed products measuring 18mm remaining. I then had a medically managed one. Nothing happened other than major cramping. This was on 18th April. Scan on 7th may showed product measuring 10mm by 6mm.
I have passed nothing since.
I am trying to track my ovulation for NKC testing. So, I did a pregnancy test and got a positive (faint) yesterday afternoon. Did another this morning and it was really dark. The test was a boots cheapo one.
When should the test e negative? I pray that I am not pregnant again. Stupidly, we did have unprotected sex twice about 5 weeks ago......
I have left two messages with my hospital one on the phone and one this afternoon in person...... I am not sure when I should exepect a negative test...
Could I have messed up......

I should explain this is my 7th m/c and no live births. Am obviously taking drugs for the pregnancies. i am convinced I have Natural Killer cells but need to track my ovulation in preparation for the testing. I had planned to check ovulation for net 3 months then I was going for the tests....

APOLOGIES FOR THE LONG POST

Oh Oinker

Im so sorry to read your post, not sure what to day but the dark + you got does sound a bit like it could be a new pregnancy.

But Im no expert!

I suppose you will just have to wait to see the doctor before you know.

Sorry couldn't leave this unanswered...I can't give you any definite advice though. I have had 6 mcs and last weekend was rushed to hospital with an ectopic - my tube ruptured and needed removing. My last mc I had faint positives for 6-7 weeks after (lost at 7-8 weeks) for some reason the hormone level just wouldn't drop and the EPU insisted on monitoring my hcg lvels via blood tests too - they finally droppped.

The only way to know for sure ( as you know) is to ask for a blood test and a folllow up one 48 hrs later - best of luck!!

I am sorry for all your stress.

I had a m/c, a period and then conceived so I guess there is a chance you are pg.

Can you see a doctor tmw?

oinker · 21/05/2008 20:47

Thereis no way I can see my GP. thursday is appointment day only....... I may call and see what he says...
The hospital and EPU are being really slow. I go on holiday next week, am off to Greece for wedding anniversary and need to know. I will want to drink.... and eat Feta chesse Oooooooooooooooh I am looking forward to it....

any update?

Disenchanted · 22/05/2008 11:34

Hi Oinker, any news?

oinker · 22/05/2008 14:46

Hospital called. No appointment till wednesday... Obviously No good as I will be sunning myself in \greece.

Called my GP. He saw me about an hour ago and took blood from me. He then called the clinic EPU and spoke with one of my doctors there. He explained the situation and they have agreed to see me on Tuesday at 10 for a scan. I can't beleive it.
Either way I will be doing what I want to do on this holiday. Every other holiday taken in the past four years has been dictated to me by the hospital. Guess what.... Did it there way and it has not worked.
My friend is 11 weeks pregnant at the moment and we were at a BBQ last weekend. I witnessed her eating BBQ burgers and sausages and home made coleslaw.... I must some kind of weirdo...Is it only me that has read the books which warn you about the BAD foods during the first trimester... Anyway... bet it works for her though!!!!
Ireckon I worry too much about what I do, think and eat... i should just go with the flow

Hi Oinker,

Glimmer/Daphne here - remember me?! Well, I had positive pregnancy test for two months after an ERPC. It turned out the ERPC was incomplete and the placenta still producing hormones. The tissue itself was calcified. It could be that the "product" you mention is still producing the hormones and you might need an ERPC.

Have a nice and relaxing holiday and get checked out soon after your return. You will want to get to normal ASAP for the tests.

Obviously, you have to make sure that there is not a viable pregnancy on top of the tissue but you are too informed to not know that.

Greetings from here.
