Have I had a chemical pregnancy ?

I was 3 days late on my period which is very unusual for me . I had negative tests some I did question whether they were faint positives but they were too faint to tell and I thought they were evap lines.
I eventually came on on my 4th day. But I had a really large clot and pains that lasted a lot longer than my period pains.
The tissue / clot worried me the most as from what I have researched / looked at on the internet perhaps could have been a foetus ? Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience before and knows what had gone on?
Im on my 6th month of ttc and this month was particularly hard with seeing this .

It's only my experience, but my chemical was only a day or two late (decent positive beforehand) and was like a normal period. I do have heavier periods though that usually have some stringy clots in. It sounds like you could have done. Hugs.

I also felt quite nauseous throughout and more so during my period which isn’t usual . And never usually have clots . Thankyou x

I had a chemical and my period arrived 6 days late (I was tracking ovulation so sure of dates). I got a faint positive at 2 days late but all other tests were negative, so I could quite easily have missed the positive test, and I knew it should have been darker at that point.
My period was heavier and more painful than usual. I also had some pregnancy symptoms (nausea) around the time my period was due.

So I’d say quite possible you’ve had a chemical. But there is no way of knowing.

On the positive side I conceived on the next cycle and currently 18w.

Wishing you all the best

You may have had a chemical, it's hard to know. But the clot you described wouldn't have been a foetus - it's far too small at that stage to see anything, it's like a grain of sand. So it's more likely you passed a clot or some general tissue.

I thought a chemical pregnancy basically shows up on a pregnancy test, hence why it's chemical. I would say no if your tests were never positive.

You wouldn't pass a foetus that early on. If you're usually regular your hormones might have been a bit out this month, which can cause a heavier than usual period (with clots) and a slightly longer cycle too.

Sending baby dust for your next cycle and keeping fingers crossed for you xx
