6 week pregnancy loss or severe vaginal irritation?

If anyone has any experience of early pregnancy or miscarriage I would really appreciate it. I'm super nervous.

This is our first IVF cycle and have been TTC 1.5 years. I found out I was pregnant nearly 3 weeks ago now. Today I would be 6 weeks 1 day.

On Friday (3 days ago) I started getting some light brown discharge and vaginal irritation from progesterone pessaries. It stopped the same day.

I went for an early scan yesterday morning and it was confirmed that everything was in the right place but the yolk was too small for measurement and there was a flutter on the screen but too early to measure heartbeat. During the scan, I was in agony from vaginal irritation and I was really struggling.

After speaking to my clinic on the phone the same day, I was instructed to use a canestone pessary to help as I had clear cervical abrasion.

The caneston pessary was huge and really hurt when inserting. I fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later and found a bit of blood in my panty liner and a small coffee granule. There was no pain but I panicked and thought the worse. I had no fresh blood after this but a bit of pink discharge over 30 mins or so.

I was instructed to go to an emergency clinic, and i did, but they refused to scan because I was in so much pain for anything to be inserted. They also said If I had miscarried there was nothing they could do to help.

I haven't bled since so I'm really unsure if the blood and small clot is linked to vaginal and cervical problems rather than a miscarriage. Feeling anxious

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I think this sounds likely to be from the cervical abrasion rather than a miscarriage unless you have had blood as heavy as a period and pain/cramping?

Can I suggest switching the cyclogest to your back passage to stop the pain/irritation. I have also been taking vaginal probiotics as I was getting thrush from all the scans.

Unfortunately it is still early and things can still go wrong. The only thing you can do is wait a few days and have another scan to set your mind a rest. Not sure when your clinic will scan you again but if they won’t you might want to look at paying for a private scan.

Ive had two incidents of bleeding at 5/6 and 7/8 weeks. Saw a good heartbeat on the scanner at 7+6 which really helped and baby is doing fine now.

I unfortunately found out I have bleeding in the gestational sac and an SCH. The embryo is very small (half the size it should be) and i will need to go back in another week. If it's still small with no heartbeat it will be non viable.
They told me to prepare for the worst.

I’m very sorry to hear that. It does sound worrying but I really hope that it pulls through. Look after yourself in the meantime. The waiting is horrible I know
