Hi,

Has anyone been diagnosed with endometritis and if so what were the antibiotics given? Was it NHS or private?
I previously had it and took part in the Cerm trial with Tommys where I was given either doxycycline or a placebo, I had a repeat biopsy at nhs hospital a while later which showed it had cleared.
They now think I have it again based on symptoms however I am being treated by my nhs hospital this time and they have given me metronidazole and cephalexin 3 times a day for 7 days instead of the doxycycline twice a day for 14 days I had before. The hospital did say the treatment they are giving me does work for endometritis but I’m confused as to why it’s different from the treatment I had before, from everything I’ve read online doxycycline is the first line of treatment for it and if metronidazole is prescribed instead this is normally for 14 days as well.

Hi,

Have you told them you will be trying to conceive again? I was on Doxycycline for a couple months for something else but was told not to take it if trying for a baby as it can cause bone and teeth problems.
