Feeling gutted. I found out yesterday..

I'm 37 and wanted a sibling for my LB. I've been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic which is in 12 weeks time. I can't keep on thinking about why this happened. Is it because of my previous c-section, age, bad luck?

I also don't know if it's a good idea to keep on TTC or do I wait for the clinic? Maybe go private. I don't know what to do.

Any success stories after recurrent MMCs?

I don’t have answers but I didn’t want to read and run! I’m 37, I’ve just had my 3rd miscarriage. 2 in the last 12 months and 1 from years ago. I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. They said it will take 6 months! I’m thinking of going private. I was told they do bloods for both me and my partner and a scan at the first appointment so I really want to get those done.

I have a 16 year old and wish I didn’t get the urge 15 years later to try again 😞.

I also had a c-section with my 16 year old, our similarities are odd 😂

I’m struggling to find a private clinic, I’m based in the UK. If you do find anything, please let me know xxxx

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m TTC my first child and had my 3rd MMC 18 months, last week.
I got referred to Tommys miscarriage clinic after the second loss, I had to wait 6 months for that appointment. I didn’t hold off on TTC but didn’t fall pregnant in that time either.
I do know of a couple of people who have had 3 miscarriages in a row and have gone on to have a baby

Oh my gosh, our stories are quite similar! I really hope you got your rainbow baby soon.

I am in SW London and have looked at three clinics in total. I am not sure which to go for...

I am also not sure if I should wait to be seen or keep on TTC. I don't know if I could mentally manage another loss at the moment.

Ugh, I'm so sorry you've had to experience this too. It's horrible. I have been trying to keep positive by reading success stories after multiple MC or MMCs here on Mumsnet which has helped a little. Was the clinic useful?

Hi, I hd two mc back to back and went on have a healthy second baby. My mc blindsided me as I had such an easy first pregnancy with no issues. My doctor blamed it on age as I was 39 and 40

Hi there, @WasitacatisaW same here. 3 miscarriages in the last 1year and half. I am 37 and TTTC baby 2. (My first child had C-section too) I am currently with CRP clinic in Epsom. NHS didn’t find any reasons for my losses while I found out with CRP that I have high NK cells. Just waiting to get pregnant now but so encouraged by many many stories of other woman at the same clinic I go that had good outcomes with Prof. Shehata.
hope it helps? Xxx

@WasitacatisaWreally sorry to hear what you’re going through. Very similar circumstances to me. Im 39 and I’m TTC #2 - have a LB who’s 3.5 and had an MMC last month at 10 weeks but stopped growing at 6, had surgical management. Was my 3rd loss in 6 months (one at 4 weeks and another at almost 6). I also had 2 early losses before getting pregnant with my LB (he was my 3rd pregnancy in 4 months). There are obviously so many reasons for losses and so hard to pin down even with testing. I’m waiting for my test results to come back and will then have an appointment with the recurrent miscarriage clinic but not sure exactly when that will be. However, I think I’m going to keep TTC in the mean time - with my age I just don’t feel like I can wait! I also went to a local baby loss support group where a few women with similar stories to mine said I might want to consider the fact that I might be hyper fertile - especially with me having very quick successive pregnancies both times TTC. I’d never heard of this before but basically means my womb doesn’t recognise bad embryos so let’s them all implant, whereas a normal womb will dismiss the bad ones. So my chances of getting pregnant are very high but means my chance of early loss is even higher - I’m going to get counselling to help me prepare mentally for dealing with this higher chance of loss when we start trying again in the next few months. Sending lots of hugs to you, you need to do what feels right for you xx

The clinic was good in that they started the testing off, and I found out I had PCOS so was put on metformin & progesterone. But I had my third loss after this appointment. I’m waiting on genetic results & will then have another appt with the consultant

I'm sorry to hear of your losses and thank you for your post. I also conceive quickly and in total I've had 7 pregnancies and I have one child. I was looking into hyper fertility this evening and I suspect that I may have it. I've started taking preconception vitamins and have been for a few weeks now, hopefully it will help with egg quality...??

I have realised that since my first MMC, any new pregnancy excitement has gone but I am going to be positive and keep on trying. Wishing you all the best 💛

My age twin! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I'm so happy to hear that your being managed by a specialist clinic and the positive stories I've read are really encouraging too. Fingers crossed for a BFP test soon x
