Hi,

I just wanted to write this down to see if anyone has had a similar experience to me and to see if they had any thoughts or advice. I am 35 and I have a 2 year old daughter and I am very thankful for her. I had her when I was 32 and all went well. It only took me a few months to get pregnant and the pregnancy and delivery were complicated. I came off contraception at the end of April 2024 and started trying for a second baby. Since that time I have had a miscarriage in August at nine weeks gestation and also a miscarriage in November at seven weeks gestation. The one in November was a blighted ovum. I am generally healthy but I would be in the obese range but apart from that I have no other health problems. I have started on a lot of supplements to improve my egg quality and my husband has also started taking some supplements. I have seen a few private consultants and nothing really of any signicance showed up on bloods or scans. However, one of the consultants I saw recommended progesterone pessaries from a positive test, enoxaparin injections from a positive test and baby Aspirin. I am a bit worried to take baby Aspirin from a positive test as I have read it can impact implantation. Some sources I have read say you shouldn't take baby Asprin until you are seven weeks along. Does anyone know what is best to do regarding the Aspirin? I also feel like this is causing a big strain on my relationship with my husband. I am currently in the TWW zone but I am not hopeful. I guess I am just looking for some hope or success stories from people that have had two back-to-back miscarriages. I am also wondering is there much else I can do myself to help the situation? I don't smoke or drink alcohol. Thanks in advance.

Sorry it should say the pregnancy and delivery were uncomplicated

Dd1, mc, mc, dd2 for me!
She was conceived the month I gave up hope and was going to call it quits on ttc.
She then had the audacity to make me think I was miscarrying her too but she's an absolute jokester so seems fitting now she's 6.
There is hope, its difficult and its a hard slog and the anxiety for that first trimester is insane.
Personally I was never referred for anything medical because apparently 2 miscarriages didn't warrant any extra care at the doctors I was with then.
But did look into baby aspirin for self diagnosis and decided against it as I have issues with bleeding within the first trimester and thought it would make things worse.
Have pushed for progesterone since my 3rd miscarriage now I'm on pregnancy numer 6 but apparently that's only a thing in England 😑 so still no intervention for me.

If you don't feel comfortable taking the aspirin, then don't. There will always be what ifs but I found asking myself " would I regret it more if something where to happen and I was taking x medication, or if I wasn't taking x medication" helped with deciding on some of the options I was looking into.
Also, really stepping back for a minute to evaluate priorities regarding relationship with husband vs ttc
It will only get harder with pregnancy anxiety and then having 2 children to care for

Hope any of that helps make you feel some hope?

Sorry for your losses OP. I’m currently pregnant with my second, and had two miscarriages in between. I was referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic by EPU after my second loss but the waiting list was around 6 months and so I had some tests done privately instead. As a result I was prescribed Asprin and daily blood thinning injections for the duration of my pregnancy and progesterone pessaries up until 16 weeks. I started all of this when EPU first saw me for an early scan at 6 weeks.

I can't comment on the aspirin but just wanted to offer some encouragement. I conceived my first child very quickly but had 2 miscarriages between my first and second babies. And when I spoke to other women I knew, this was quite a common situation. Several had also experienced 1 or 2 miscarriages between their first and second babies.

Obviously there are so many variables that impact fertility and pregnancy but I just wanted to offer a bit of hope.
