*GRAPHIC* Is this a miscarriage?

I never confirmed if I was pregnant as my periods have not yet fully settled after having my implant removed. However according to my app… I would have been 42 days late. My period has been unusually heavy and quite painful. I have passed several clots (or what I assume to be clots!) and the biggest one tonight… which I have pictured. Could this be an early miscarriage? Is there anyway that I can actually find out?

I’m think it looks like a standard clot. I would say not a miscarriage.

yorkiepud0000 · 23/03/2025 22:16

Take a pregnancy test you’ll still have the hormone in your system if you are/were pregnant, you’ll know either way then. GL

Easterbunnygettingsorted · 23/03/2025 22:18

Just looks like normal uterine lining....
When I mc the actual 'tissue/product' is blue tinged...

Pumpkinspice13 · 23/03/2025 22:18

If you were pregnant you will still test positive. That would be the only way to know if you were pregnant.

Elboob · 23/03/2025 22:18

I'm so sorry. That doesn't look like any clot I ever had.
You'll know for certain soon, I'm sure.
You could ask your doctor tomorrow.

Naepalz · 23/03/2025 22:22

I think that is a normal clot but as others suggest do a pregnancy test tomorrow, as it will tell you definitively. The pregnancy hormones will still be there for several days even if it is a miscarriage.

Garman · 23/03/2025 22:31

That’s a normal clot and actually very small compared to what happens in a miscarriage.

TreatYoSelf2025 · 23/03/2025 22:36

This is a normal clot and very small in the grand scheme of clots, especially miscarriage clots.

LollyLand · 24/03/2025 02:01

Looks normal to me. Probably because you’re late not pregnant.

Laurasco87 · 24/03/2025 07:43

Thank you everyone. Perhaps the heavy bleeding is due to a missed period - like double so to speak! As people have suggested I may take a test for piece of mind.

Update: I have taken a pregnancy test and it was positive. The doctor has referred me to the early pregnancy unit but I’m so worried I have already miscarried. Can anyone offer any advice?

I had some bleeding including a small clot at around 9 weeks pregnant. It stopped after a couple of days and my pregnancy went full term and my daughter is now 28. Until you have a scan you can't know for sure what is happening/has happened but there is definitely hope. I wish you all the very best x

Bathnet · 25/03/2025 14:19

I’m so sorry OP. I hope you’re ok

Elboob · 26/03/2025 08:30

I hope your scan shows everything is okay x
But I would have thought it was too soon for any hormones to change enough for a test to be correct either way

Laurasco87 · 26/03/2025 09:05

Yes I have read that hormones are still present for 3 weeks after a MC. It feels like an eternity waiting for the scan. Only 24 hours to go. I have no pregnancy symptoms which is worrying but then I didn’t have any prior to the bleed either…. Hence not taking a test.

Looks quite worrying Laura but you obviously know that already. Hold on to some hope if you can, until you can get the scan tomorrow. This must be such a difficult time for you. Find someone to give you a big hug and hold your hand.
Sending every positive thought I can muster your way. Very best of luck - take care of yourself xx

fourelementary · 26/03/2025 23:10

Sadly I think you should brace yourself for some difficult news tomorrow at the scan… prepare for the worst and if it’s better news then you’re relieved… but that’s quite worrying for any stage of pregnancy I’d say.

TreatYoSelf2025 · 26/03/2025 23:24

I reiterate the other posters responses. Unfortunately I think you need to prepare for some horrible news tomorrow but I’m sending all my prayers that it isn’t.

Laurasco87 · 27/03/2025 06:04

Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts xx

They couldn’t see a baby developing on the scan. I’ve had blood taken and need to go back in 2 days just to check the hcg levels are falling. Sad news. Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts xx
