Old hormones or new pregnancy?

I had a missed miscarriage exactly 3 weeks ago. I opted for medical management and took progesterone blockers and then misoprostol, and lost the baby within 8-12 hours of taking the medication. I took a pregnancy test daily, and the tests got lighter and lighter until they went fully negative just yesterday, exactly 19 days after the miscarriage. The doctors / midwives said there was no medical reason to wait to TTC, so in the meantime, I have had unprotected sex (without actively trying). Today, day 20 after the miscarriage and the very day after I finally tested negative, I have tested positive again. It’s very faint, but still a clear positive. I’ve taken 3 tests since this evening, and all positive. What is going on?? Has anyone had this happen before? Is it possible it’s still just residual hormones from the miscarriage, or is this a new pregnancy??

Bump! I’m still testing positive for pregnancy, and I’m so confused. The midwives said it could be a new pregnancy but there’s no way to know for sure for another week or so, and if I’m still testing positive a week from yesterday, they’ll have me in for a scan. I get it, but it’s going to be a long week so I’m looking for stories of anyone who’s been in this situation before?

I went in for medical management 3 weeks ago , the 26th, epu recommended waiting to test for 3 weeks I tested Monday, yesterday and today and my tests are getting lighter but still faintly positive. Keep testing daily but maybe your negative test was from dilute urine?

I thought this, so I drank loads and loads of water last night and tested again (with a test from the same box) and the line was even darker. I don’t understand it at all, because as much as I want it to be a new pregnancy I think if it was I would have had to ovulate within 2 weeks of my miscarriage to be testing positive now … which seems unlikely.

I’d love to say I’ll stop testing and see what happens next week, but I don’t think I’ll have the willpower tbh.
