Adenomyosis and recurrent miscarriages- any hope?

Hi,
i have a beautiful nearly 7 year old son & have been TTC again since Aug 2020.
During this time I have conceived 6 times but have lost all 6 before or just after 12 weeks.

I have had every test possible as has my husband with no answers however I had a routine scan on Friday & the results came back today diagnosing adenomyosis. Finally after 4 years of heartbreak we have an answer.

Has anyone had treatment for it his during pregnancy? I am wondering what can be offered (I am being referred back to gynae/recurrent miscarriage) so wondering in the meantime if anyone has any advice/success stories?

I am now 35, hugely maternal but questioning whether TTC again is going to be detrimental to my mental health which has already declined significantly because of the trauma I have endured.

My pregnancy in 2017 was relatively smooth albeit some early bleeding & he being born at 36.2 (late prem)

interested on hearing other experiences whether good or bad - I have a huge life choice to make at this point in my opinion as I can’t find much information online and my GP was very honest and said she did not know any answers without me being referred back to those with expertise.

Any response will be really gratefully received.

thankyou

I'm so sorry for your losses it really is heartbreaking to go through.

I had my DD in 2020 like yours it was pretty smooth apart from a small bleed at 6w-7w and at 20w scan having picked up an issue with the blood flow with the placenta but she was fine. We then decided to try again once my cycle returned as breastfeeding however that ended in MC 2021, 7 months another MC 2022 then I caught straight away again MC 2022 I was referred to Recurrant MC, the wait list was over a year so decided to try again and we finally had another DD May 2023 again 20w scan picked up an issue with the placenta. At my 6 weeks pp check I complained about abdominal pain I was sent for a TV scan and that's when I found out I had Adenomyosis I suspect I have had it all this time hence why I've always had irregular cycles, spotting between and really painful periods. I asked my gp at the time if it was linked to MC and they said it wasn't however after speaking to other gp's they said it is linked to recurrent MC. I don't think there is much research on it at the moment but I did find a report on both Endo and Adeno I'll see if I can find it again.
We surprisingly caught again in August this year however sadly that also ended in MC. My new gp has put in a referral again to recurrent MC.

I hope this has given you some hope that despite multiple losses it can happen and you are not alone on this journey. We will still continue to try again and remain hopeful that we will meet another rainbow.

@BlueBerrySeaStar I can’t thank you enough for your response it has really given me some hope 🙏🏻.
I am so sorry to hear of your losses also, it is such a heartbreaking journey, my heart is with you ❤️.
I have been re-referred to Gynae but they won’t review my referral until 12th Nov and will decide whether I need to be seen or not?! 🫠 helpful.. and a re-referral has been made to the Recurrent Miscarriage dept but as you say, how long is the waiting list?
We have a private appt booked for 8th Oct as we just want some answers, i’ll post on this thread anything they advise. All research I’ve done states if pregnant again i’ll be ‘monitored’ but I have been classed as high risk through all of my pregnancies due to my DS coming early so not really clear what intervention can be offered.

thanks again & good luck x
