Light bleeding at 7 weeks. Fetal pole measuring 4 mm and no heartbeat.

Hiya,

I’m/was currently 7.4 weeks pregnant and started to bleed lightly yesterday, mainly when I wipe (red blood). (I’ve had pink spotting since the beginning of pregnancy but it intensified yesterday ) So went to the hospital to have everything checked and they saw the fetal pole. It only measured 4mm (is that not too small for 7 weeks pregnant?) and they could not see any heartbeat… they said it could be that it’s to small yet to see and said to come back in a week to check again. I am still bleeding a bit but nothing major and no cramping. I still have some pregnancy symptoms. I don’t know what to think… do I still need to keep my hopes up or do you think it’s very likely I have had miscarriage ? Any similar situation to me and what was the outcome ? I am so sad and find it difficult to fonction properly without knowing…

i was in a similar position, but my pregnancy symptoms stopped and I sort of knew. Whereas it sounds as though you still have some hope. Keeping everything crossed.

I’ve been in this situation so many times and the waiting is honestly the worst part. Hopefully it was just too early to see the heart beat and you’ll see more next time 🙏🏻 x

Thanks for your messages… unfortunately I had a miscarriage. On misoprostol now and waiting for things to happen.
