July 15 - Went in for my 3 month ultrasound and baby measured at 9 weeks w no heartbeat.- missed miscarriage

Tried to let my body pass him naturally but no luck so July 20 I took the medication and bled so so so much but yet felt fine. Called paramedics. Thick yogurt like blood. Bc of how much blood came out, they thought everything was out.

The rest of just week, I had medium period like. But felt fine.

July 27 - 8 days later for the last 4 hours, I noticed something emerging from my vagina, my Placenta was hanging there 1inch out and after 2 hours, 3 inches out and is not coming out. Lots of blood. But I feel fine. I went to emerge and the doctor just pulled it out. I was scared to pull in case it was stuck to lining.
The doctor put her fingers up there and said there is now nothing left up there.

I also was shocked since everyone told me that last week when I took the medication, everything had passed and yet all week I only had light period like blood.

July 30-
I am now experiencing all of this, the sharp pain in anus and blood discharge is brown serum like.

**What is this?? Is this retained placenta or where my uterus is tilted??? My doctor does not know. I am praying for another ultrasound next week. But scared the pain is getting worse.

(for context, I birthed two healthy kids no complications unmedicated in my home, no prior miscarriage. I am 32. I thought I was superwoman and didn't expect any of this. )

First I do want to say I’m so sorry for your loss.

a lot of people who have had previous babies do feel like super women because they’ve never had to experience the loss.

ive now had 3 miscarriages with no living children.

If I’m correct in reading you’re 15 days past miscarriage and you’ve had medication to pass the pregnancy?
it may be that you may have some retained tissue, fight to get back into EPAU for another scan and just say something doesn’t feel right.
they will scan you again and see if there’s some retained tissue.

but during all 3 of mine I’ve always had like brown sludge like discharge after my pregnancy had passed and after the initial bleeding.

my 3rd one, I had been bleeding bright red blood for 2 weeks, and had to go back anyway for a scan to be told that I still had retained tissue.
but I already passed majority of the pregnancy anyway without medication as it happened naturally.

it was retained too high up for a d&c and it wouldn’t pass naturally because it was too far up at the top of my uterus.

if your ever worried re retained tissue please speak to your doctor, this can cause infections and make you really poorly. If you believe something still isn’t right, get it checked out!! X
