Pregnancy of unknown location; chemical pregnancy & bleeding

Sorry for the long title. I have no idea where to start, hopefully a timeline will help.

I found out I was pregnant on 10 July (10 dpo) the line was so faint and I had been experiencing some symptoms related to pregnancy.

I tested everyday and the line never got much darker at that point. Then from 12 July I had some brown spotting for a few of days which I am now putting down to implantation.

I was concerned at this point and contacted my GP who referred me for an early scan at local EPU.

On 18 July, I started to have a pink watery bleed which then led on to red bleeding. It’s not as heavy as my period, never fills a pad and I also have mild cramping. I thought I was miscarrying but oddly at this point the pregnancy test lines were getting darker.

I was still advised to go for a scan at EPU on 24 July. They couldn’t find a foetus, my lining was thin at 5mm. They initially out it down to chemical or PUL. When I told them my tests are getting darker and still had a positive that morning, they did bloods and I have to go back in 48 hours for retesting. The scan also revealed I had a cyst on my left ovary and I had a fair bit of fluid, the nurse was concerned enough to check with the consultant.

As of today 26 July, I am still bleeding. I have my next blood test today which hopefully confirms it’s not ectopic.

Can someone give me some insight on their own experiences please. When will the bleeding stop? Is it chemical if you are still testing positive for this long? Has anyone had a positive stories after similar experiences? Is there anything I should be pushing to be answered from the nurses/doctors?

Sorry for such a long message. They say you shouldn’t Google but reading Mumsnet forums has really given me a lot of comfort where ladies group together and help answer the niche questions generic articles don’t cover.

I had a similar experience when I had an ectopic pregnancy.
I had spotting red/pink/brown for about a week whilst they were monitoring me.
My HCG levels were increasing with the every other day blood tests but not doubling like they should have been.
I’m sorry I can’t give a more positive answer but that was my experience.
Have everything crossed yours has a better outcome 🤞 x
