Any stories of hope following an ectopic AND miscarriage?

Confirmed ‘suspected’ ectopic last weekend, suspected as they can’t find anything, anywhere, but HCG levels are rising and have been doing for over a week. Injection (can’t remember name?) given a couple of days ago.

Also had a missed miscarriage last year found at 12 week scan (with no prior symptoms of a miscarriage whatsoever).

Me and partner are young(ish!), healthy bmi, eat well, tick all the basic boxes. We had an incredibly straightforward pregnancy/birth/baby 5 years ago so this experience has completely knocked us.

Got to get through a 3 month wait now before trying again, but just want to check if there are any even vaguely similar stories that have had a happy ending as feeling completely broken today.

I’m the same as you but in a different order:

Ectopic (with injection) April 2020
DD born August 2021
MMC February 2024
I found out I’m pregnant on Sunday (but lines are faint so preparing for a chemical)

I completely understand the despair but there is hope after an ectopic, it took us 2 months after our 3 month wait to fall pregnant with DD. You’ll be offered an early scan at 6 weeks because of previous ectopic which helps to relieve some of the anxiety.

Try and keep yourself busy over these next 3 months and make sure you’re emotionally ready to try again. You’ve got this 💖

So sorry to hear what you have and are going through.

I had similar with first pregnancy in March 2021 was an ectopic which ruptured and I ended up going for emergency key hole surgery where my right tube was removed. I then went on to have a miscarriage around 6/7 weeks in the June when I fell pregnant again a few months later.

But I then went on to have a healthy baby boy in May 2022 and just had my daughter a few weeks ago. Both pregnancies no trouble at all and no complications.

Sending love and hopefully some hope for you .

I'm so sorry for your losses and what you've been through.

There is hope.

Between our first and second, I had two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy.

We were older. I was 39 when I had the ectopic and had surgery and lost a fallopian tube, but we now - following tests, treatment and IVF - have our lovely little rainbow baby. (Well, not a baby any more, a very bashy toddler).

I hope there's a rainbow in your future too.

cant offer much reassurance but just wanted to say I’m in the same boat - I’ve also had an ectopic and MC, currently TTC again 🌻

Similar situation for me too (miscarriage in February), Ectopic (surgery and tube removal) in April. I'm almost at the point of being able to try again and just wanted to let you know that while I felt completely broken by it all back in April, I'm feeling positive and ready now. Give yourself time to grieve the situation and time to heal physically and emotionally, then when you're feeling up to it try to do some nice things during the three month wait to take your mind off it. It will get easier.

@Lou490 id recommend focusing on your health and wellbeing in those three months, preparing your body TTC. Have you read ‘it starts with the egg’? So much info on diet, supplements and things to avoid to stimulate good egg and sperm quality. Xx
