Hi,

I just wanted to get some advice from people that have used baby aspirin after consecutive MCs. I had my first MC at 5 weeks in November, found out I was pregnant again in Feb and after some spotting at 12 weeks went to the EPU to find out I’d had a MMC at around 7 weeks. Me and my fiancée want to start trying again soon and I have read lots about baby aspirin helping women in a similar position to me. I just wanted some guidance on when everyone started taking it? Whilst trying or after BFP? Any information would be much appreciated, love reading positive stories from people that it has worked for xx

Sunshine8011 I see you havent had any responses to this yet, although there are some threads about aspirin on these forums. I just wanted to say sorry for your losses. I have had almost the same as you but the other way round. MMC at 12 weeks, measuring 6 in the Autumn and then just had a Chemical which ended at 4.6. I am going to consider aspirin next time but not sure yet whether to give it one more go without. Hope you are doing ok.

@Carportforme Hi, thank you for your message. I’m so sorry you had to go through that too, it’s such an awful thing to go through and the trauma really does stay with you! Me and my partner are going to start trying again after our holiday, I think I will try aspirin this time and hope for the best. How’re you getting on? Hope you’re ok xx

Couldn't reply without quoting sorry. I suffered two miscarriages a few years ago and on the third positive started baby aspirin and carried a healthy baby/pregnancy. Not sure if just coincidental but it was a good outcome for me, good luck x

@Windy1234 aww thank you for sharing your positive story! I’m so sorry for your losses but so happy you got your rainbow baby! Can I ask when you started? Was it straight after your positive test? And when did you stop taking it during pregnancy? Did you take it on your doctor’s recommendation or did you self medicate? Sorry for all the questions I just really want to do everything I can to try and have a successful pregnancy next time xx

Thank you I started straight after bfp and took it up until about 30 weeks. Doctor didn't mind to be fair, it's quite a low dose but do feel it helped. A midwife explained something about some people prone to sticky blood or something. Iv since had a second child and did the same straight away x

Sunshine8011 · 10/07/2024 23:21

Yeah I’ve been reading a lot on sticky blood! I bruise easily so I think I could fall under that category? It’s worth a try either way! Did you take the 75mg or double up? I know the new guidance is 150mg but I’m reluctant to take more than I need! Aww so glad you’ve since had another child that really does fill me with hope xx

I had two MMCs and one chemical then a successful pregnancy in which I was taking progesterone from 3dpo and aspirin from 11 weeks. I think the progesterone was a key player in getting my daughter to stick around. I had also been on a high dose of vitamin D for eight months following the second MMC when it was discovered I had a severe deficiency.

Hey, just wanted to throw in my experience too, similar history, tho it was over 7 years ago now. Had 2 miscarriages, and was told about how they advise you to take baby aspirin after the 3rd, so I just started taking the 75m tablet, I think when I was trying. Got pregnant and kept on the bsby aspirin till maybe the 20 weeks, healthy baby ❤️. Began trying again when he was 2, fell pregnant but didn't take the aspirin this time, and had an early miscarriage. Next time trying, started taking the aspirin again and had another healthy baby! Everyone is different and I'm def not a medical professional but out of 5 pregnancies, only took aspirin with 2 of them and they were the successful ones!

Wish you all the best. It's such a difficult journey.

@TheBirdintheCave @Jiggy16 Hi ladies, I’m so sorry for your losses and that you both had to go through the heartbreak of recurrent miscarriages. It really does help hearing your positive stories though so thank you so much for sharing. I’m back from my holiday in a few days and I think I will start taking it when I’m back as we are going to start trying again. It can’t harm and listening to all your stories it definitely can help! I’ll keep you all updated but thank you to everyone for sharing your stories and the advice/support. Until you go through something like this you can’t fully understand so it’s nice to have people who do xx

I too was found to be very deficient in vitimin C after my MMC. Only discovered as I had a couple of private blood tests. Now on a large dose each day!

Definitely sounds like it had benefit for you. Fingers crossed for us new tryers !

AppleStrudel23 · 12/07/2024 21:04

My mother was 40 and was taking baby aspirin after two miscarriages that she lost at around 12 weeks for both, and then she had a successful pregnancy. I've also heard other good things about it, I hope it works for you! I'm sorry for yours losses too

SuperSange · 12/07/2024 21:21

I'm sorry you've been through that. I had 3 miscarriages, then started with the aspirin for my fourth. As soon as I got the positive test.
He's ten now. ❤️. Sending you love and good wishes.

Carportforme · 12/07/2024 22:43

Applestrudel23 and Supersange, thank you for coming on the thread and letting us know your positive stories, really appreciated and grateful to you.

Hi, just curious if you have had any success? Just overcoming miscarriage and considering aspirin

Hi @Sunshine8537 I’m so sorry for your loss, it’s an awful thing to go through. Here if you need a chat! I unfortunately have yet to fall pregnant again since my missed miscarriage (I haven’t really been trying and re-started planning my wedding as I needed something positive to look forward to) but will definitely be taking it once I do. I’ve read a lot more about it this past year and most people who use it end up with a successful pregnancy after multiple losses and unexplained fertility issues. Hope you’re ok!

I tried it after my MMC and first chemical. Next pregnancy was another chemical. That said my doc wants me to stay in it and I await better news,p. I have been diagnosed with immune issues though.
