Cramps before period since having surgical management

I had surgery for a MMC at 12 weeks in February and ever since then I have really bad cramps that start about a week before my period arrives. At times they're really intense and then they stop just as my period starts.
Before the MC I never experienced cramps until the day basically my period arrived and that was it, even then it was mild.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm hoping it's just everything still settling but that's 3 cycles now. If it happens next cycle then I'll contact the GP but I guess I'm just hoping for some reassurance. I've convinced myself something must be wrong as I still haven't got pregnant when I conceived so easily with my first pregnancy and the MC and now nothing. I know 3 cycles isnt long but it's unusual for me which is what makes it difficult for me to think that everything is ok.

Yes I have been having the same thing since my late miscarriage at 18 weeks.

I have spoken to my GP as it is still happening 5 cycles later but have been told it’s nothing to worry about as it is not debilitating me. But if it continues I will be contacting something as it is also making me feel like something is wrong!

@PeachPombear I'm sorry to hear of your late miscarriage. Did you have to give birth to your little one? I will contact the GP after the next period if it's still the same as it doesn't seem right. This period is really really heavy too which isn't normal for me, I'm hoping after this one it'll maybe get a bit better but who knows.

@jellyfish2 thank you I am sorry we are part of this club.

Not to be too graphic but my baby fell out and had to call an ambulance.

I think my hormones are still all over the place as I can feel every change in my cycle. I would definitely have a chat with your gp

@PeachPombear that's awful, I'm so sorry. Did you get any answers as to why it happened?
Your GP should be checking your hormone levels and surely referring you for a scan? That's what I'll be requesting if I have to speak to them.
I did read that some people take longer to get everything regulated again so maybe just more time for us both, especially since your miscarriage was so far on.

@jellyfish2 how are you doing sweet? I've been offline for a while as I have been so busy with work and feeling quite down and out but yes I have been experiencing exactly the same as you since my most recent MC in Jan. Severe cramps for a week prior to period which I have never ever had before. It's been 4 cycles now. Hope you are doing ok otherwise x

@nearly8 nice to hear from you! I'm just a bit sad and frustrated that I've been unable to get pregnant when it's happened so quickly before (twice) and it's definitely because of the miscarriage, I'm thinking maybe the surgery has caused issues??
How have you been?
Have you been to the GP about it?
Has your periods changed too?

@jellyfish2 everything came back that it should have continued as a healthy pregnancy so they think possible incompetent cervix but not something they can test for until I’m pregnant again.

So trying to stay stress free ttc but difficult at times
